Game Day thread - Rnd 18 vs Norf

One final rant.
McIntosh misses in the third and laughs.
*smile* me.
Pull your head in.
I was going to say the same thing with Bolton. But then realised he hardly touched the ball.

once again this year ... one of those behinds goes through the big sticks ... we win

and that doesn't give me any comfort, i find it quite depressing

As Dimma said, we are Number 1 in the AFL for Inside 50s.

Our forward line composure/game plan/execution is a Mess.

So stop playing players who contribute to that lack of composure in the FL. Do not play Aarts or Castagna.
So, responsibility rests with that ex blooze spud coach. Whats his name?

Every supporter of every other club is laughing at us tonight.

And most of them started laughing last week.

And deservedly so.
They might be, but they can suck it.

The last two weeks have been horrific, but in reality the Tiges were never going to play a meaningful part in finals in 2022, regardless of the hopium that people have been smoking.

Our stars are at the end of their careers and the good younger players we have will take a little time.

They recruited well last year and will continue this year.

The rebuild has already started, and loser opposition fans will be crying again in the not too distant future.

There's nobody on this forum who doesn't love our club mate.

We've been blessed.

But you can't hide from a loss like that. 2 capitulations in 2 weeks from a side that SHOULD be contending.
Exactly . We’ve just lost to the worst side in the comp. One that gets spanked by 10 goals plus most weeks.

No excuse, no coulda, woulda, shoulda. We lost to a rabble and a laughing stock and that makes us the laughing stock.

Thick skin or not that hurts mate. I’ve been a supporter for over 40 years, a member for more than 30, travelled the country watching our boys play in the bad times as well as the good and I can tell you, today *smile* hurts mate.

Hopium!

That's very good.

I thought we had the talent to do a last dance style tilt at the flag this year.

I posted at the start of the season that we'd need some luck, a fair go from umpires and minimal injuries.

We received NONE of those things, and here we are.

Tonight I'm all out of Hopium sadly

Is Teague our FWD line coach?
Yes.

The point he was trying to make is that we are killing ourselves. We are getting the ball in there and creating opps but lack composure and execution.

He said, as we all know, we kicked 1 goal 9 from within 30 metres of goal.

Anyone take up the $10 HH offered on North win?
I got North when they were 13s - make some nice coin. Just had a sinking feeling when we got done last week. Have reinvested some of the nice winnings into next week where Freo are at 2:45.

Just home from the footy, I thought the drive home may have helped me calm down. It hasn't.

You could see quite clearly the pressure was off in the first quarter, said they needed a rev up at quarter time, the 2nd was more of the same. It was just like the Saints last night, finals on the agenda and you put up that crap in the 1st half. No intensity whatsoever.

The 3rd was better and we were camped in their half pretty much the entire quarter, but our composure and ball use was poor going inside 50, bar the last c ouple of goals in the last 2 minutes, we would have barely put a dent in the lead.

The 4th wasn't much better. Jack would kick that snap 99 times out of 100, and that gets me to Aarts. WTF would anyone play on at that point. I have no idea what was going through his mind.

It was a strange game, for a game that we largely controlled, I really struggled to pick our top 5. Tarrant the best, played his role very well, but the remainder were hard to pick.

How many times do we have to lose due to the same things, poor execution in front of goal and losing close ones. How is this being addressed?

Most frustrating season ever maybe. Almost top 2 but in danger of being crap. ‘13 or maybe ‘96 putting their hands up too.

Let’s look at the positive… my daughter won the $500 rebel sport scheckles for the half time kick thing… and the young fella scored $20 for a nice placed kick

Main reason I don't go anymore posh. Can't handle these situations any more. We torture ourselves more than any other club even after 3 flags. I reckon the assistant coaches are under more pressure to be sacked than the players.

Stoppage at the end with nobody goal side, Goldstein taps to Zurhaar who kicks a goal with minimal pressure was unforgivable.

I've seen Auskick kids defend better than that.

We're not learning from these devastating close losses

As soon as Aarts took off his warmup jacket I knew our comeback would fall short.

yep. i didn't even know he was sub. when i saw him there my heart sank .. and look what happens!!
i seriously do not know how he got a game after last week. I'm very confused by this ...

So? How many premierships have they seen in the past 5 years? Thought Richmond supporters had developed some resilience after the *smile* we went through between 1982 and 2017.
Exactly. I couldn’t give a *smile* what opposition supporters say about us
