TBH I don't really care who put the handbrake down. The main thing is it has been.

Fair enough Oldie. It's great to go to the footy again regardless of whether we keep winning

Question of course was who engaged the handbrake in the first place and why was he so stubborn to change for so long.

Dimma's now thinking of taking his bike out without the training wheels and his tinny out on the bay with the anchor raised.

Marvelous new idea this! Simply marrveeeloouss.

The handbreak hasn't been released, it's been Broken :hihi

It's not as if the team hasn't played exciting football before lamby under Hardwick in 2010-2013.
We lost our way no doubt but if things are back on track again I'm not going to look backwards.
This season has a long way to go though before we can say we're on the yellow brick road.

Let's have more interesting discussion about Dimma's "handbrake years" in the Grimes thread. I feel that this topic is not discussed though and this is clearly the place to do it.

Now back to the main point of this thread - the empty feelings we have about the game plan of last year.

Are you saying that people have been unhappy with Hardwick.

I haven't noticed.

Hardwick coached us from 2014-16, Josey. These were the prime years of several of our key players. All wasted.

I may have been the only Will Thursfield fan but I reckon Grimsey is Will re-incarnated. This is the potential I saw in him and have had a soft spot for him since his first game. Love his effort and the way he sums up situations. Having 3 talls all fit and playing with confidence is doing wonders for RFCs season.

Grimes and Rance are not only good in the air, tough and quick but they are very good when the ball is on the ground. Major reason our defence is performing well.

I loved Thirsty as well. Unfortunately Will had to play main defender which he did well enough but would have excelled if he had the likes of Rance and Astbury to support him.

We've got another Grimes developing in the twos in Garthwaite but I reckon Garthy has more offensive strings to his bow.

Don't get to see the 2s but if Batch had any strings to his bow it was his willingness to work off his man and rebound from defence. Would be great to add that to the current system.

“Obviously, we have team rules that we abide by, but, ultimately, Dimma’s put the power in our hands to make the decisions in the moment."

He meant Blake, because we all know who has control now!

Sshhhh, don't mention the bleeding obvious Graystar. You'll get Tiger Masochist, Ninja, Tassie tiger and Sinners all upset.
Not upset at all. In fact my argument against this theory I think has been logical and measured simply waiting for some piece of factual information to support something which is speculative.

That is yet to arrive and you would have thought if it were bleeding obvious that would be easy.

In the end, unlike the hysterical anti everything Dimma brigade, I actually don't care that much. I am far more interested in the result and celebrating that whatever is happening is working right now.
