Career best post, ziffens.

:hihi It was a top post by the Zipster. Body bags all over the ground :rofl :rofl

Grimes is playing awesome footy this year. Hard as a cat's head. Staggered that he only had 6 touches given his influence on the game.

Great work Grimey :clap

Watvh the replay. there's a play in the centre, I think it was early in the last quarter where he lays 5 super hard tackles in a row. Absolutely sensational, and all the commentators can say is how tough Melbourne are going in.

Yep that was incredible stuff evo. Just incredible. He would have laid 4 or 5 tackles in 30 seconds. Some blokes don't even lay one for a whole game.

But Melbourne are going in so hard ::)

Such a determined and courageous player. Totally committed to the cause. Knows no other way than to play team-oriented football for his mates. Just love the way he goes about his business on the footy field.

Doesn't get many disposals but he and Rance in top flight are an unbeatable combination. Two of the best backmen in the league.

I just love Grimey, you'd love to have him in the trenches with you. He just hates being beaten & always gives his all.

We got the best Grimes & at a bargain price.

TV "experts" have NFI.

x3, NFI. We have comeback win in front of 85K, 50K ecstatic, loud tiger fans going off, Dusty, Cotch, Rioli and Jack excitement machines, what do they choose to talk about after the game?

What a fantastic kid Clayton 'Murali' Oliver is. way to go buffoons. :p

Yeah I laughed at that. There wasn't one mention of Grimes after he'd just laid multiple tackles and single handedly stopped Melbourne getting the ball out.

Article on Grimes on RFC website. Appears the players are enjoying the handbrake being released.

It’s an absolute credit to ‘Dimma’ (coach Damien Hardwick) and the coaching staff because this year I feel like the boys are playing with a lot more freedom . . . make the decision and make the play based on what the cards have presented,” Grimes told SEN.

“In previous years, there was a lot more structure about how we moved the ball and it was pretty easy for other teams to defend.

“But, at the moment, players are encouraged to play to their strengths and play their own brand of footy.

“Obviously, we have team rules that we abide by, but, ultimately, Dimma’s put the power in our hands to make the decisions in the moment.

“We’ve got some great players that just play on instinct and having a game plan like that really plays to their strengths and their abilities . . .

“A guy like Dusty (Dustin Martin) is flourishing this year, because he can play his own brand.

“We’re seeing the young forwards, as well, just play their own brand of footy and bring to the table what their strengths are.

“It’s been really good to watch and a really fun style of game to play, to be honest, because you’re getting the best out of each player.

“I’m definitely having more fun out there than I think I ever have . . .

“As a negating defender, offensive ball isn’t really a priority of mine, too much. But to move with speed through the corridor is always exciting for the fans to watch.

“Hopefully, we keep playing an exciting brand of footy, with a focus on defensive pressure.”

Maxmising the players' strengths eh?

Should be a coach's alpha and omega.

The lost years are difficult to stomach.

Credit to Dimma though that it only took him 8 years to figure out. ;D

Sad for a few players in previous years who have left who might have enjoyed their time more.

Are you sure it is Dimma that has changed the style of play or is it our new coaches having input.

Hardwicks probably thinking this car drives pretty good with the handbrake down

Dimma's now thinking of taking his bike out without the training wheels and his tinny out on the bay with the anchor raised.

Marvelous new idea this! Simply marrveeeloouss.

Sshhhh, don't mention the bleeding obvious Graystar. You'll get Tiger Masochist, Ninja, Tassie tiger and Sinners all upset.
