Keane was the consummate no-nonsense half-back flanker in his hey day. Really good player.
Grimes is displaying a similar trend in getting the job done ... and, "the length of the thread is a mark of the man" says it all.

Had the worst 5 minutes I have ever seen him play in the first 5 minutes, just got out of position so easily in that first 5 minutes, but really worked hard to get back in the game and played a pretty good one in the end. Such a big part of our backline now, with Grimes, Rance and Astbury.

yr right about the defence zip. and Grimes is tough and goes about it. does a lot of 'quieter' stuff. great player.

Still only 25 going on 26 and has that slightly unhinged look in his eye possessed by Defenders Who Mean Business. Eliminate the occasional howler like that kick out on the full in the last and he can go to the top level.

Star in my book. M Keane like in that no other club fans rate him. And never will get a Brownlow vote. Now that he plays week in week out is so valuable to our club.

Yeah that one in the last was a howler but it shows the confusion the players have with the rushed behind rule. I reckon he was under enough pressure to rush it through but he thought twice about it and we saw the result.
