Re: Cricket

Martyn, Langer, Hayden, Gilchrist and Katich if he gets picked will all struggle against the Poms good bowling attack.

SA test is well poised. Even money?

Aussies slight favourites tonight.Agree the above batsmen will struggle against poms & you can throw in Symonds who the poms will have a field day with.

Re: Cricket

agrred MB, symonds too.

What is going on here? Everyone I talk cricket with is saying the same thing yet the Aussie selectors seem to have their head in the sand.

They went for the short term fix TS,bringing back Martyn & Kasper & ignored Symonds poor test record as he's a mate of Ponting's.

Mark Waugh is likely to become the new selector.

Unlikely he said last time No as he cannot watch a whole days cricket. Perhaps if he was at a pubtab he may apply.

Langer may not add to his 100 tests either. I am a fan of JL but would not be surprised.

Disappointing way to end his career, but after umpteen blows to the head, if he misses the Bangladesh tour, I think the time may be right to hang up the boots.

A lot of respect for Langer , kept fighting back after many kicks in the guts, getting dropped, and overlooked, he really got the best out of himself. A few at Richmond would do well to follow his example.

He has Bigwow you just wonder how many times he can get hit in the head. Not a great way to finish but maybe best for his health.

Judging by some past selections staying in a pub all day would have been standard procedure.

JL isnt finished yet i reckon he along with McGrath and Hayden may be eyeing off the Ashes at home as their last hurrah

Re: Cricket

I hope you are all watching the test right now. It looks like being a great finish. Gee Pollock is bowling well. He could've had Martyn out 3 times in that over instead of just once!

The real celebrating will start when we win back the ashes. We could have sent over Tassies 2nds & they would have beaten South Africa. On current form & selection I reckon England will retain ashes.Selectors need to change test team.Out-Kasper,Symonds with another 1 or 2 to follow.

Okay Mr Sneeze.Well done Marto. That doesn't change my view,as I do not believe he should be in the test side.We have an aging batting lineup that will struggle to cope with English attack.Throw in Symonds whose technique will be exposed by Poms. But yeas it was a good knock by Martyn.

Re: Cricket

It was a decent win, but its bittersweet for me.  Bangladesh coming up, talk about being lulled into a false sense of security for the poms pace attack.  Pace, swing, heart, smarts, bowling as a team, captain who makes very good bowling and fielding calls.  Different kettle of fish.
