So the Sweeny gets a chance to start his Test career as a 25 year old, bats at number 3 but picked as an opener in his first Test game, but only coz the rest of our openers are *smile*.
Dunno, must be because I'm getting old n decrepit, but all this big money old pensioner sport is starting to do my head in. WTF happened to the young tyro that simply strutted into the game and announced themselves to all n sundry?

Doing a Redford after timing but Pakistan were amazing overs today @ $2.70

We had a team of sloggers against a very good swing/seam attack.

Fraser-McGurk, Connolly, Hardie, Stoinis were never getting it done over 50 overs once sent it. Add Maxwell to that who's generally struggled against on decks that bounce and seam.

Who was the last player who did that for Australia on an international level? Warner? Cummins in SA? Pucovski might have been that, but for concussion. Konstas could be that and with Ussie turning 38 next month, it’s possible he will be.

Our batting is at a very low ebb and there are a few players who we need to move on from, Maxwell and Stoinis as starters. Not sure Short is an international player, JFG needs to learn to defend as well as attack, Hardie is not an international class batter (or bowler), Inglis thinks he is Adam Gilchrist.

Puzzling captaincy from Inglis as well. We set a target of 141 on a fast bouncy deck and he opens the bowling with Stoinis. The only genuine quick we picked in Morris didn't bowl until about the 12th over when they are 0-50 or so. He gets a couple of wickets.

Abbott also has to go, not an international standard bowler.

Our only hope against India is if their batters fail because our I can't see us getting enough runs. Heavily reliant on Khawaja at the top, Smith is a shadow, Labuschange has forgotten how to make runs, Head is class but a bit boom and bust, Marsh ordinary. Carey is going to have to play really well this summer I reckon.

India are going worse than us Sin.

Both teams will battle to get more than 300-350 but I'd back our depth in the bowling department.
