Re: Cricket

match will probably be drawn.  the durban ground gets dark before the tea break and the Boers will accept the light if offered by the umpires.  but I hope and prey that we take enough wickets for Lee to have another crack at Nel, who is without doubt the dumbest bowler going around.  He doesn't understand that you only sledge when you're on top.  when the opposition has just smashed you for 22 off one over (5 fours and a 2) you should shut the xxxx up.  He's living proof that Darwins theory may be wrong - unlike the rest of society Nel has not "evolved" - he's a still a caveman.

Re: Cricket

Hodge out for 28,Vics 3/38.I'd imagine the Vics would be looking forward to the end of this game.

Re: Cricket

Heard that rain was forecast for the last day of the SA test. Maybe not in time to prevent a King Pair for Smith with the possibility of Nel becoming nightwatchman and copping some fierce short bowling from Lee.

Re: Cricket

Second Test, Durban
Australia 369 and 307/4 dec.
South Africa 267 and 297 (Boucher 51no; Warne 6/86)
Australia win by 112 runs
Man of the Match: SK Warne

Time was running out at Durban too and the weather closing in when Warne finally finished it. Boucher hung around for an awfully long time to almost save the Test for the home side. Kasprowicz ended a long stand between Boje and Boucher but Nel hung around with Boucher for quite some while too. Finally Warne claimed Nel and then fooled Ntini into padding up to the wrong 'un.

Re: Cricket

good effort by warnie

well done to nick jewell as well. shame the vics lost but he had a great season with the bushrangers

Re: Cricket

Well done to the Aussies on beating South Africa.I still believe there was no need to play Martyn & Kasper as the result would be no different. These selection decisions could hurt us next summer when we play the Poms.

Maybe but credit where it's due. Very comprehensive victories by the Aussies and it really takes the gloss off the SA ODI final win.

Although I agree on Martyn & Kasper the emergence of Hussey and Clark must please the selectors enormously.

I bet the players are loving the fact that they've rubbed Smith & Cos. nose in it.

The true test however will be the Ashes and this series win won't count for much if we don't regain them on home soil.
