But he's the King of Spain! ;D

Giles was number one choice before the tour, but has probably been surpassed by Panesar. A lot will depend on the performances of both in the home Tests this summer. Udal will be third choice in case of any injury etc.
Giles is no superstar but not the worst spinner & is a handy bat.

Great effort by the Poms. They will be tough to beat in the Ashes particularly if the selectors continue with "bring back the hacks "policy.

yes MB, why they are pursuing this p[olicy has got me completely bamboozled

Short term gain of beating South Africa could very well turn into losing the ashes.

Re: Cricket

Vics 2/52 after 25 overs. Jewell & Hodge now at the crease. Arnberger & Marsh both out for 15

Re: Cricket

Vics 2-86 Jewell 29 Hodge 16.

Hopefully we can have a question on the sports quiz board "Who was former Richmond footballer who made a ton in the 2006 Pura Cup final", without wanting to put the mozz on Nick.

Re: Cricket

Vics going along nicely.Jewell has been in good form & hopefully will make a big score from here.

Re: Cricket

At tea Vics move to 2/173 with Jewell on 73 & Hodge on 57.Looks like a big 1st innings but the question is if the pitch is good for batting can we bowl out QLD twice?

Re: Cricket

Hope big Mick Lewis can stick it up everyone & put in a big effort taking a bag of wickets in both innings. Finals have a habit of coming down to fielding stuff ups. Hold onto the chances Vics!!

Re: Cricket

200 up for the Vics. 2-201 with Jewell on 79 & Hodge on 77 :clap

Hodge making runs in the first innings?

Well I'll be damned!

Must be an easy wicket.

Re: Cricket

Ease up phanto he does a lot, remember the final two years ago for instance or match against Windies and his first test innings.

I think your stirring the pot.

Re: Cricket

Second Test, Durban
Australia 228/5 (Ponting 103, Martyn 57; Ntini 3/50)

Cruising at 198/2 but then lost a few late. Lee went in as nightwatchman but was soon out so Symonds had to go in anyway, and was promptly cracked in the head by Ntini.

Ponting good hundred but dropped on five and then on 36 Smith and Kallis, who were first and second slip, simply turned and stared at each other as the ball bisected them.

Re: Cricket

Thanks Ready....that will save me waiting for the news to hear the results. :)

Re: Cricket

News is a waste of time at the moment, as it starts with ten minutes on how Australia thrashed the Falkland Islands at tiddlywinks and Niue at rounders to win GOLD GOLD GOLD. ;D
