True Zips, but we've won 2 at home & now 1 on the road against them. But there are 2 tests to go.I also rate England ahead of South Africa.

Re: Cricket

Third Test, Mumbai
England 400 (Shah 88, Flintoff 50; Sreesanth 4/70, Harbhajan 3/89)
India 89/3 (Dravid 37no, Yuvraj 32no; Hoggard 2/16)
Stumps, day two

An unbroken 61-run stand from Dravid and Yuvraj has restored India's hopes after Hoggard and Anderson ripped through the Indian top order.

Re: Cricket

I spoke to Mick Lewis today and he reckons the boys want to route the Saafas and in particular Boucher and Smith for their gobbing off. :yawn
Apparently both these guys are hearing plenty of chirping about 'the caulderon' of abuse we were meant to face from the Sth African crowds :rofl
Its apparently as intimidating as being lashed with a wet tram ticket.

Boucher should have kept his mouth shut. Before he opend his trap his recoed was very good against us.I suspect now it will deteriate.

Although we've bagged the selectors for picking Martyn, selecting Clark was a master stroke :thumbsup.

Credit where it's due.
Won't make any judgement on Clark after 1 test.Time will tell.Still would have gone for Bracken. The way South Africa bat we could have bowled anyone & would have achieved the same result.

now cmon Marcia Brady, I too cant fathom what planet or what long term plan the selectors have got with the astonishing martyn selection.....BUT they got this one dead right!

Bracken & Clark are chalk & cheese as players, Bracken is a swing bowler whilst Clark is a seamer.....there is a vast vast difference between them.

The selectors said they picked Clark for the tour because of the prediction these wickets will seam around, & to their credit thats exactly what transpired, Clarks long term future is far from guaranteed but to day that Bracken would have got the same results os pure folly.

Re: Cricket

Excellent effort by Stuart Clark.

Reminds me very much of a younger McGrath.

Thought the same thing Phantom. Similar in style.

Unfortunately Clark's 30 already so he's not that young.

He bowled really well and got some terrific zip and movement off the pitch. McGrath would've been proud.

Agree on both counts MiniBus, but complacency has a habit of creeping into the Aussie game of late. Pollock back for the SA's will also help.

Zips,Pollock will certainly help them but their batting is woeful.Pollock will strengthen the batting but their top order batsmen aren't performing.

Re: Cricket

Interesting to note Individual perfromances in OS tours,
Brian Lara 7 runs in 4 innings against NZ
Tendulkar 49 runs in 4 innings v. England

Yeh, he might at least help the game get into the 4th day. :hihi

Re: Cricket

Third Test, Mumbai
England 400 and 31/2
India 279 (Dhoni 64, Dravid 52; Anderson 4/40)
England lead by 152 runs with eight second innings wickets in hand
Stumps, day three

England bowled well on the third day to grab a crucial 121-run first innings lead, but it could have been more had they not been frustrated by Kumble and Sreesanth. The latter made 29 when his first class average is 5.42 and his previous best first class score a modest 19 not out.

England lost both openers cheaply but at 150-plus runs to the good a couple of decent partnerships should set the home side a challenging run chase on the last day.

Very interesting, India needs Sachin to step and Brian apart from his 200 against Aussies has struggles since September. Good pick up Wowser

Re: Cricket

See kasper is reneging from a deal he signed with a county club to maximise his chances of playing in the ashes. My advice to this hack is to go to England & collect the cash beacause ifwe need him for the ashes Aust is in big trouble.

Who would be the bowling attack you would take into the ashes MB???
Tuby, I reckon the bowlers should be McGrath,Lee,Bracken & Warne. If Clark continues his current form I might put him in ahead of Bracken.Another spinner to play the Sydney test.

Agree but would like McGill in for the Adelaide and Sydney tests at the very least mate - possibly the Melbourne depending on the pitch and would closely watch how clarke comes along before that. He really impressed me in the last test over there but it was only his first test. Like the way he goes about the business though.
