I read in the paper today that Zimbabwe have decided to suspend themselves from Test match cricket for 1 year, maybe forever. This, to me, raises a couple of questions. Why did it take Zimbabwe Cricket to make the decision and not the ICC. Were the ICC too busy worrying about the really important matters in world cricket today, such as the banter in the papers? Or do they not have the balls to make the decisions that matter? The other question is, now that there is no Zimbabwe to play against, is Warnie's record now safe from Murali for all time? ;D

Good win by the Aussies. Lee and Hogg bowled really well , Jaques a great debut but one player worries me seeing he is back in the side. Martin seems to bat too arogantly for my liking - a good batsman but when you pay the oposition no respect you get back that in spades and the last two stints have shown complete arogance imo and he has been bowled both times doing the same thing. Maybe a time for change in terms of Martins tenure in the side i think.

Jacques needs to stay opening with a view of the world cup with either Gilly or Clarke. Martyn may be in trouble as with Katich (although he could bat lower).
Best one day bowler in the world now, hopefully he continues to improves and takes over from McGrath and be numero uno in Tests. 12mths ago I thought he was over rated but he has improved and hopefully he can knock over some Poms.Crystal said:

I've always thought Lee just needed to learn control of his talents which is a process all top fast bowlers go through. It's called "growing up". ;D

Brad Hodge makes 106 in 20/20 final in which Vics have easy victory over NSW.May give him a sniff of a chance for the Aust 1 day side in view of Martin's haphazard batting.Would like to see Jacques stay in Aust 1 day side ahead of the boring Kattich.

Vics convincing today . Impressive hitting without resorting to slogging or rash shots etc. NSW season stalling & 'owned' by the Vics at the moment.
If Martyn reckons 20/20 success merits reinstatement to the Test squad then Hodge has certainly put forward a decent case for ODI consideration,possibly at Martyn's expense....

2nd test - Pakistan 4/379 v India , stumps , day 1 .....Good run rate but are the conditions conducive to any sort of reasonable contest between bat & ball ? Portents not good from the 1st test but let's see how India fare when batting....

Mortlake 2/169 all out 183 but the boys could not get the runs now out of the 4
The B Boys chasing 220 won in last over with one wicket in hand, good to see Chooka back in the runs with 49no in his comeback game.
This may sound dumb but may as well advertise our cricket club Pomborneit is celebrating its centenary this year and if anyone has ever played!! or know of anyone and has not received an invite, please PM me.
