Couldn't watch the cricket yesterday (what little there was, thanks sydney) due to work, but heard that Glenn McGrath was reported for something or other. All I could find out in the paper was he was upset when Warnie dropped a catch. He didn't abuse anyone, just was annoyed. Are officials going over the top with all this or is it warranted in this situation? First the ICC want to ban verbal barbs in the papers etc, now this. Yet they do nothing about chuckers, Zimbabwe etc
He was reprimanded by the ICC (for the sixth time) for, wait for it.....using foul language!!!
And it was apparently when Warne dropped a catch so it wasn't even at the umpires.
He got the same disciplanary action as Brett Lee did (reprimand) the other day for something equally as stupid, but they also reported South African coach Mickey Auther for criticising the umpires (and their shocking decision making) in the press. His hearing is this morning (6/1). It wil be interesting to see what happens, but he probably won't escape without a reprimand or a fine.
Apparently the umpires and the match referee have decided to take a "tough" stance against the perceived Australian bad tempers. And obviuosly the umpires are untouchable when it comes to criticism.

And although the cricket is being unfortunately disrupted the rain comes as a very welcome relief up here, given the fact we haven't seen it at all in over a month, we burned down over New Years, and there are a few problems with a drought
