Darmasena is a shocker. That ball wasnt travelling straight like ball tracking indicated???

Stokes was spot on. This whole umps call is a farce. And that was a pretty crap decision. The Indians have had some "luck" with the DRS this series.

Hopefullt the Poms can win the 4th to make the 5th test a live one. Been a good watch so far.

The umps call is to allow for the margin of error of the technology. I don't like any LBWs given when ball-tracking shows it was marginal whether the ball pitched or hit in line or was just clipping the top outside of leg stump. I have my doubts on the accuracy of its flight path predictions, full stop.

I don't like that 90% of Kumar Dharmasena's 'umpire's calls' in Australian games go against Australia, or that he's always umpiring us.

I don't like that the limit of three incorrect reviews (and Tim Paine's horrendous desperate call to review one that pitched a foot outside leg) cost Australia an Ashes series victory in England in 2019 when Stokes was as plum as you'll ever see and Blind Joel Wilson gave it not out. "If it's hitting the stumps it's hitting the stumps", as Stokes says.

I don't like that England weaponises The Spirit of Cricket when it has done the exact same things it's now trying to use against Australia, or considering it is now clearly the 'ugly' and unsporting team in world cricket. I don't like that English crowds boo Smith and chant "Same old Aussies, always cheating", when they laud 2005 as The Greatest Series Ever Played and gave MBEs all-round to every member of a team that ball-tampered for every minute of every Australian innings for a five-Test series.

I don't like that every time we go to India they produce unsporting pitches that are falling to pieces on day one. I don't like that teams can't bowl 90 overs in a day even with an extra half-hour, and nothing seems to be done about this show of contempt for the paying public. I don't like that teams don't take long enough to acclimatise on tours.

I still love cricket, though. It's still far less contrived and corrupt than the AFL.

Good points spook. I think the English should be given credit for their un-English approach. Any serties they are involved in is entertaining to watch.

The Indian series this Summer is a must watch. Hopefully everyone is available from both sides.

The complete accuracy of ball tracking is questionable to me. Root was fired sweeping. Watch where it hits him, and whilst he had taken a fair stride I strugle to understand how it determined the ball was hitting the top of the stumps. Especially when you compare it with the Stokes LBW. The ball strikes him higher than Root's, yet tracking has it hitting just over half way up?

BTW great to see Pucovski score another hundred. Perhaps his test career is not done and dusted just yet.

We'll see how Bazball fares over the next two Tests - and a tour of Australia, Jazz. A 4-1 loss in this series could not be called a success. On Root, he has previously been a master in India but has scored 77 runs in six innings here, and got out reverse-paddling Bumrah to second slip. Not only was it a dumb shot at the wrong time against the wrong bowler, it was also something like the seventh time in 15 Tests he's got out playing it. If you got out hooking seven times in 15 Tests you might be advised to give it away. Hell, Tendulkar got out cover-driving a few times, put it away and scored 240 without playing the shot once.

Jaiswal has just made his second Test double century, in his seventh match. Some player.

22 years old, now has 12 first-class centuries in 22 games. Averaging over 70 in both Test and first-class cricket.

Just listened to Peter Craddock on Jaiswal's story, lived in a tent outside cricket grounds for 2 years without electricity and water and little food until spotted practising in the nets by a coach as a 12 year old.
As Craddock said no Australian could ever be as hungry for runs as this kid considering what he had to do to get there.

Yeh, even Vaugh has had a crack at their approach. You can be aggressive but it must be tempered with some semblance of respect for what the bowlers are dishing up and how the pitch is playing.

A noticeable massive improvement over the last few years by the Indians is in their fielding.

Pucovksi 131 in his return to Shield cricket after three months. Jewell 209* against WA.
Also an article in the Herald Sun today, that he believes a lot of his concussions, weren't concussions, and he's worked his way past his mental health concerns, with some good support. Apparently, a lot of his concussion symptom were related to other issues. Only have paper copy so can't post a link. He's hungry to play for Australia again, so here' s hoping.

Yeah, that was a real eye opener. Hope he has good management and doesn't become overwhelmed by the adulation he's no doubt gonna get.
Great to watch him smash the Bazballers with a bit of Jazball👍

England 5-112 at lunch. I can see it being allover on the third day if not before. The ball is keeping lower than a politician.
