Cricket

Punter says get him in the Test team asap.

Victoria dropped him from it's second XI at the back end of last year and then only offered him a 1-year rookie contract.

Good to see South Australia recognising and developing talent.

Finally, Punter has a great cricket mind, but still only number two from the Apple Isle.

We were just delivering the tough love he needed at the time. It was the making of him.

Australia into the u/19 World Cup final against India after a one-wicket win over Pakistan. The last pair came together at 9/164 needing 16 more and got the job done.

I don't know if it's telecast anywhere but I've been watching highlights packages on the ICC youtube channel and there are a few promising players.

Harry Dixon is a consistent, stylish left-handed opener who's scored 16, 89, 49, 53, 10, 50 in the six games. Victorian.

The captain Hugh Weibgen bats at 3 and scored 120 against England after 68 versus Zimbabwe. He's due for runs in the final. Queenslander.

Opening bowler Callum Vidler bowls dangerous late outswingers at good pace and has two 4-fors and a 3-for in the tournament. Qld.

The other I like is Mahi Beardman, pace bowler from WA. Tom Straker took 6/24 in the semi but his bowling action looks stress fractures waiting to happen. NSW.

Kerry O'Keefe's hype man Sam Konstas ("the best young opener I've seen in years") got 108 against the Windies when the side was in trouble otherwise hasn't done much more than continually get bowled through the gate (or leaving it). NSW.

I was reading about Vidler and they reckon he has been clocked at 143 kmh a few months ago and may now be even faster.

That's serious wheels for an 18 year old. Idolised Mitch Johnson.

Australia has scored 253 in the under 19s World Cup final against India. Runs on the board, with a good bowling lineup, tear em a new one Australia.

Buck Rogers is putting on a clinic for the Vic's at North Sydney. Like most left handers, he times the ball magnificently. Vic's 6/242 after 42 overs, Rogers 149 off 128 balls.

Pucovksi 131 in his return to Shield cricket after three months. Jewell 209* against WA.

Shane Watson would have been proud of Bairstow's review today.
I was watching that live and thought WTF...!
I reckon Paul Reiffel must've been pìssin himself laughing under his breath as he did the review!
Hope the prick is still playing when they tour in 2 years!

T20 Aust v Kiwis this Tuesday.

Tim David, if he gets a game, will take em to the cleaners.

Jaiswal has just made his second Test double century, in his seventh match. Some player.

22 years old, now has 12 first-class centuries in 22 games. Averaging over 70 in both Test and first-class cricket.

He's batting with debutante Sarfaraz Khan. 26 years old, made 62 off 66 in the first dig before Jadeja barbecued him. Currently 51 off 67. (Edit: make that 61 off 69) Averages 70 in first-class cricket, with 14 100s in 45 games coming into this.

India could field two Test teams easily.

There are teams playing Test cricket these days who would struggle against an Indian Fourth XI.

Not too many like to bowl however, at least pace bowling
