The mental damage is not dissimilar to the carnage that Mitchell Johnston inflicted on the Poms on the return campaign after Mojo had a fairly ignominious tour in the Old Dart the previous series.

Johnston resurected with the Mo Shhhtarka dead set put the frighteners through the entire English line up with those withering and venomous spells at Brisbane and in Perth, following which and during it many were broken and didnt wish to return.

Don't forget Adelaide, didn't he get a 7-for

One change to the Aussie line up, Khawaja in for Head.

Ian Chappell saying each country should get rid of coaches, captains should suffice.

What a dinosaur.

The Saffers have found one in 21-year-old beanpole (206cm) left-armer Marco Jansen. Nice economical action, good shape and bounce, will add pace as he matures. 4/31 on day 1 of the second Test against India, to go with 4/55 on debut. Can handle the bat too, averaging 23 in first-class cricket.

Chappell should have been pastured years ago. He sounded drunk during one session during the end of Nine broadcasting the game years ago. He probably was.

Again watching the 2nd test South Africa vs India .. a really good day of Test cricket yesterday.
The commentators were talking about Quinton de Kock's sudden retirement from test cricket. The discussion was he will play for many years one day and 20/20 and that test cricket is no longer the premier style of cricket. South African kids now aspire to be 20/20 IPL stars. I was really surprised by the commentator's comments .. love my test cricket don't mind 20/20s ( Go Renegades ) but Tests are the ultimate ...I guess I'm just growing old :(

The reason the IPL is attractive is because of the money on offer and the reason that money is there is gambling. I work with a couple of Indian 20 somethings. Both like cricket, but only take a passing interest in 20/20. One of them, her Dad worked in the Indian sport broadcasting industry, mostly cricket, said the only reason the IPL exists is gambling. It’s largely the same with the BBL here, too.

Some fascinating test cricket going on. Would be nice if Australia played some tests against countries that aren't England or India.

Good work from the Gadigal elder who gave the WTC on the opening day of the Sydney test showing WTC doesn’t always have to be a super serious affair.
