I'm watching the SA vs India test live on TV here . SA is about the same level as England in Test Cricket atm .
Kass Naidoo is the female commentator in SA .. knows her cricket ..Kasturi-Naidoo-l.jpg

I'm surprisingly o.k. with the term Batter.
We've never had bowlermen, it's always been bowlers. So why was there ever a need to call them batsmen? Batters n Bowlers, covers both the mainstream genders n the in betweeners as well.
Batsmen, Batswomen, Batsthingumybob????? Nah just Batters will do.

The Poms have been well & truly Battered this series :))

SA bowling is good esp Rabada and Ngidi gee just watched um get India out for 197. However, their batting is average. They need to get 305 to win . Can't see SA winning ..
Find the SA commentators very laid back compared to Australia . Kass Naidoo is probably the best of them .

Not one South African averages over 40. That'd be one of their worst batting lists for a long time. Always had one or two very good to great batsmen.

It is an amazing stat but it also interesting that Rohit Sharma is the next best worldwide with 906 runs
Can turn into a fairly meaningless stat when one plays four or five more tests during a specific calendar year.
Jig a jig's a quality bat, but the Poms played 16 tests this year ( most extremely poorly , at the extreme opposite end the Aussies played 5. India playing their 13 test at the moment.

yes it is, Root had 29 innings to Sharma's 21 but the other standout was Kurunaratne from Sri Lanka with 902 runs in 13 innings. Not sure who they played of course.

Marnus was the best Aussie with 526 runs from 9 innings at 66.

And Lizzie Jelfs, although she's dumped the mic. Bit of talk she'll join Annabel Neasham's stable.
I know Lizzie and she is a great girl, great sense of fun/humour. Smart and cute too. (and married!). Worked for David Hayes for quite a while, very good at what she does.

Ross Taylor announcing his retirement from international cricket from the end of the season. He's been an absolute rock for the Kiwis.

Great stint for the Black Caps. Well done and Congratulations Ross Taylor.

Captain and one man band for many years.

Unfortunately for Taylor and Flemming, and the Kiwis, that Kiwi side on Taylors emergence had some other good young batsman and bowlers with him that lost their way off field in Lou Vincent and Jesse Ryder. They also lost Shane Bond to injury and others in Jacob Oram, Dion Nash and Chris Cairns to injuries other vagueries and short form cricket.

Ross Taylor along with Baz McCullum carried the Kiwis for a decent stretch,

The Kiwis have never quite been able to get a generational side together since their teams of the early to mid 80s that contained the Crowes, Hadlee, Howarth, Sneddon, Cairns, Bracewell, Chatfield, Smith, Coney, Greatbatch, Edgar and Wright.

Rutherford, Flemming and Taylor all stalwarts of Kiwi Cricket all captained with less than the best sides available to them.

Herald Sun reporting that England are considering taking a punt on Punter as coach.

With his commentating and coaching in the IPL he'd probably say no. Why take a pay cut to coach England.

He comes across so well.
I'd be rapt to get him as Aussie coach, so hope the poms don't follow through with it
