Second Test, Faisalabad
Pakistan 462 (Inzamam 109, Shahid Afridi 92, Mohammad Yousuf 78; Harmison 3/85)
England 113/3 (Trescothick 48, Bell 36no; Rana Naved-ul-Hasan 2/23)
Stumps, day two
Pakistan 462
England 391/7 (Bell 115, Pietersen 100, Jones 55)
Stumps, day three
Pakistan 462 and 183/6 (Salman Butt 50, Inzamam 41no; Flintoff 3/46)
England 446
Pakistan lead by 199 runs with four wickets in hand
Stumps, day four

Harmison removed Kamran Akmal in what was to be the last over of the day after bad light stopped play. Pakistan will look to Inzamam and the tail to set England a decent chase and then attempt to run through them on the final day.

Monster Bender's hero Shahid Afridi ended up with figures of 4/95 but didn't get much chance to exhibit his dance moves when he came out to bat, having his off stump demolished first ball by Freddy Flintoff.

There is justice in the world :clap :clap :clap

Re: Cricket

3 Victorians;Hodge,Lewis & White all included for 1 day squad to go to New Zealand.Looks like Merv Hughes is pushing up the Vics which is great news.

Re: Cricket

Pakistan 462 and 268 (Inzamam 100no; Hoggard 3/50, Flintoff 3/66)
England 446 and 164/6 (Flintoff 56; Rana Naved-ul-Hasan 3/30, Shoaib Ahktar 3/61)
MATCH DRAWN
Pakistan lead the 3-Test series 1-0

England survived after bad light stopped play, just like it has just about every day this series. This is what happens when you play Tests this far north of the equator this close to the winter solstice.

Inzamam made his second century of the match to set England 285 to win before some inspired fast bowling saw the tourists at 20/4. Pietersen and Flintoff steadied the ship and dragged England towards safety, with Geraint Jones and the King of Spain completing the job.

The final Test begins in Lahore on Tuesday the 29th.

Re: Cricket

Good to see a competitive series.

England would have been disappointed to fall short in 1st test from a position of comparative strength but happy to draw yesterday after having to playing catch up from the outset.Fast bowlers have all toiled well but their need for a good (leg) spinner has been shown up.

Inzamam & Butt have been solid contributors for the hosts as has Shoab (well,he's playing to the home market,I guess).

Shame the World XI junket was scheduled so early in the season when most of the visitors were lacking match practice. Those currently in the subcontinent certainly seem on their game now

Re: Cricket

W Indies won the toss & batting in Adelaide.

Let's hope their can carry their effort from 2nd innings @ Hobart into today...

Re: Cricket

Windies 3/55 with Sarwon just out.He has plenty of ability but has been a disappointment this sseries.Lee has all 3 wickets.Lara not out 19.

Hopefully Lara can go on with it and make a ton before we get to the tail.

Lara's just cracked the 'fifty' barrier & W Indies the ton.....3/102...
Lara looking good & Windies move into a reasonable position a 4/166.If lara stays in a good 1st innings score is likely.

Re: Cricket

Tony Grieg made a point recently about his run-scoring chart. The only peaks in the most recent innings of his career have been 100's, no 50's. Like most batsmen, he needs to have a good start to go on with, but his benchmark number of runs is closer to 50 than other batsmen who might be hitting their straps by the time they're at 20 runs.
I hope to see the end of this current partnership soon. If Bravo can repeat his last inninngs it could spell trouble for us (albeit on a dead rubber).

Re: Cricket

finally a Lara ton and potentially a competative 1st innings score.

Good to see fellow posters and cricket lovers looking for a competative game.

Re: Cricket

Not only do i wish to see a competetive game EVO but i just love siiting back and immersing myself in the moment of watching an absolute great go about doing what he does best.

Well done Lara, maybe just maybe the great man can show the Bravo's, Hinds, Samuels and Gayles how to really knuckle down cos they all can bat they just lack patience and concentration.

:clap LARA :clap

Re: Cricket

Lara 202no :clap. Well he was due. Shame the series is over before he hit his straps.

Lara is just 12 runs away from Allan Border to become the leading run scorer in Test cricket.
