Typical Pietersen, pull shot for six to bring up his century and then tried it again on the very next ball and skied one to mid on.
I love that stuff. That's what gets people along to the cricket. Pieterson is great for the game.

Re: Cricket

Meanwhile Shahid Afridi has been suspended for one Test and two one-day internationals after contravening Law 42.11 regarding deliberate damage to the pitch. While everyone else was distracted by the drinks machine gas cylinder explosion yesterday and the subsequent uproar, Afridi took advantage to scuff marks on a length at both ends in an action described in the Guardian as though he were dancing the Twist. Unfortunately for Afridi, while he thought everyone was preoccupied with the aftermath of the big bang, stump cam continued to operate and caught him red handed.

It would get a lot more people to the cricket if I promised that I'd hit Pietersen in his big goofy face next time he arrived at the crease.

Afridi should have been suspended straight away.
No Skipper,he just slipped over on the pitch so keep him playing.I love watching him slog.

Re: Cricket

Has the shortest attention span in world cricket. That's probably why he ended up dancing on the pitch during the distraction before suddenly it clicked that he was probably being watched.

Its blokes like Afridi that keep Cricket interesting. Peitersen, Big Inzy, Flintoff, Warne etc. Cheats, Liars, Whatever they make the game fun.
Imagine if they were all like Langer, Katich and Martin oh dear. Id probably get more acquainted with my neighbours goldfish

Exactly right Michael. Sport NEEDS characters.
It's one of the things that's been bred out of our great game of AFL these days unfortunately with the continued robotic and professional approach to the way the game is played. That's why I love watching guy's like Richo & Akermanis. Real characters of the game who aren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeve. It happens all too rarely these days given the way players are muzzled in the media etc. Players are more like cattle than real people these days.  :-\.

Agreed, Richo cops a heap of criticism for just being passionate, he cares about what happens on the field.

Its all about being professional and staying in the zone. Meaning be a boring fart otherwise you're not serious about the sport.
FFS have a look at Golf. Name one modern golfer that has some spunk? Its impossible, they're too busy in their zone to show any emotion, interest, LIFE.

I'm not suggesting that they should all be clowns like a Mark Jackson or a Warwick Capper, just a bit of passion/spunk/flair/emotion

Re: Cricket

Im all for having characters in the game however what he did was way way outside the spirit of the game.
