Moss and Crosswaite putting a partnership together

Symonds run out for 1
Gilly 2

Re: Cricket

Well done to the Maccas for an entertaining last wicket partnership - not pretty but certainly gritty.

Goodonya, Stewie - 4th highest scorer of the innings. Should never be out of test contention!

Loved watching him hit Powell for 12 runs in 4 balls. Then Powell bowls a dot ball and thinks it's time to get talkative. Man that bugs me!

Re: Cricket

Good debut by Hodge.Assuming Langer comes back for next test I'd be surprised if Clarke wasn't dumped & Hussey put doen to bat no 5 after Hodge.

I think they like Clarke for some reason... I think if he were dropped it would be good for him.
Agree, the selctors are keen to keep him because he is a young man in an aging side.He needs his head shrunk so a 12 mth stint out of the side won't hurt him.

Does any Sportsmen ever really benefit from playing at a lower level, apart from a wake up call or disciplinary reasons.

If you have faith in Clarke, let him play against the best, with the best and on the biggest stage.

Steve Wuagh got dropped & it never harmed him so Clarke should go for a series or 2.Hayden just tried to finish game with 1 run needed & got caught.Aust 1/77.

Re: Cricket

Listening to Boony on radio, I think they will give Clarke more opportunities.
I would say Symonds may be dropped as he is not a test cricketer. I would also not be surprised if Langer does not make it back. He is 35 today. I hope they keep Clarke as he is the future and after that there is untried rookies.

I would be happy if Hayden or Langer were given the chop but I don't think the selectors have the courage. In respect to Clarke he should know that he is not a walk up start & a short period out of the side won't hurt him.

Re: Cricket

Whats wrong with picking the older guys?
Why do we need a token youth policy with Clarke?

Older players such as Hayden & Langer are not going to get any better in their mid 30's.Players won't walk these days as the money is so good so the selectors need to show courage hence I would stick with Hussey & chop one of the openers.
