I don't know how the salary cap fits us at the moment but cutting townsy means it's calculated.
Then we need to assess if we can afford Richards and Barlow.

Ha ha. It would be a disgrace if we did. Not only poor recruiting but not honouring a contract.

We currently have 37 on the list and four out of contract: Moore (gawn), Batchelor, Lambert, Butler.

I would delist the remaining three, Capuano Townsend, DFA Richards and Barlow, and go to the draft with six picks (upgrade Short with the last). Deep draft, very even through to a long way down. We can find a player at pick 100.

But the issue is Spooker ... "We" struggle to get players in the top 50 let alone at at 100.

Im sure there will be options late in the draft and i agree with you re delisting a couple more ideally Lamber and Butler at the very least they are list cloggers and not going to improve the club going forward.

If they dont i only hope it is so they can clean a large amount of dead wood out for next year, any 2 year extensions to any of Butler Lambert or Batchelor is unnabashed incompetance and Muppetry of the highest order.

Castagna can stay on the rookie list for mine for one more year no need to waste a senior list spot on him for now when they are premium.

I agree on elevating Short he's deserved it.

Looking forward a little but and we seem to be set up quite well with players who will take us forward and a lot of players out of contract next year.

The others who IMO are all playing for their careers at Richmond- Maric, Grigg, Drummond, Elton, Hunt, Lennon, Morris, Townsend and Broad.
Castagna decision will need to be made next year.

Thats 9 on the senior list that we will pick and choose next year as to which ones stay. Reckon Maric and Townsend are guaranteed to go next year. Maybe only 2 or 3 of these 9 actually survive.
