I think Batchelor and Lambert have had enough oppurtunity to prove there worth as AFL footballers and imo they've failed, very lucky to get another contract. Butler though I would have cut, he has been injured and played decent footy at the end of the season so I can understand the club giving him another year, don't agree with them been re signed , however hope they prove me wrong

Chaplin, McBean, Moore, Mckenzie and Marcon weren't regulars this season. Vickery and Deledio were.
This tells me the club are generally happy with the 2016 list enough to take it into 2017.

We have to take three players, but upgrading Short count as 1, so we only need to draft two new players. And then two rookies.

With Prestia & Caddy coming in & hopefully the return of Yarran there is just no need for Lambert, would have preferred a tall dfa to add some depth where we need it. As for Butler I haven't seen much of him but thought he would be gone. Jake , well he is just another who continues to get chance after chance

Hopefully Dusty signs which leaves 7.
We already have 2 first rounders, a 2nd rounder and two third rounders for the 2017 draft.
If we pulled another 2nd rounder for ... say Grigg.... then that's 6 good draft picks.
