We need to move some salary out next trade period and there's not much there to chop.

While Caddy and Prestia help next season they are probably been paid overs compared to the rest of the list. Dusty might want some catch up and if we want to land another fishy....

I'd say all these are gone end of 2017 unless they produce something special.

Grigg (fair wage) Hunt (cheap) Morris (fairish money) Townsend (cheapie) Lennon (?) Maric, Broad (cheapie) Elton (low). Not much money saved there.

Might have to look at unloading a BEllis type or two to free up some cash.

What all clubs don't know yet is what the salary cap is for 2017 and beyond because they haven't agreed it yet. That could make a major difference either way

No rush to upgrade Cal Moore, and maybe Castagna, Short definitely, Soldo is Cat B, so treated differently.

Batchelor should go but somehow i suspect Handbrake will attempt to convert him into a 3rd tall forward option and stick with it whilst we lose seven games straight!

Agree, reckon Short will be the only one who is upgraded in the ND. We will not have 40 on the main list so can promote one before round 1 anyway so no need to do it now.

I would probably keep Batchelor on a one year deal but probably not any of the others. Pity we have never seen Butler but I have seen him play at vfl level and whilst lively I can't see him making it at AFL level.

We don't need Lambert imo but he and Marcon would be great for the vfl team !!

We can't afford to punt people with contracts. If we could, Dimma would no longer be there.

Sadly wouldn't rule it out CMT.

Biggest issue heading into 2017 for mine is our appalling key position depth. That's why some of the smalls/mids like Lambert, Butler, A Moore just have to go and be replaced by a mature tall or two as DFA, draft/rookie.

Our incumbent CHF Griff and CHB Astbury have played more than 18 games in a season once between in 14 seasons in system. Incredible / crazyfaith being placed in them by the coaching staff.

C Moore, Elton, Chol etc are miles away and we'd stand no chance of playing finals if any of these need to play more than 10-12 games. If that happens why bother trading out our picks in a deep draft for a launch back up the ladder this season?

Taz, I just looked at the RFC site and it shows Castagna, Short, C.Moore and Chol all on the Senior list with only Soldo as a Rookie. What do you think that means?

I think that means that as of rd 23 there were all upgraded to the senior list ( and someone hasn't updated the website to reflect them going back to the rookie list). Or they haven't "officially" been relegated back to the rookie list.
