Changes vs Sydney Swans

Jack is still out most likely play to kick a match winning score. Miller has never kicked more than 2 goals in a game, and he has only kicked goals in 2 out of 9 games this year. Our best passage to goal in terms of talls forward of the ball is Jack and Ryan.

Our balance was way out of whack in the forward line on Thursday. We looked good a couple of weeks ago against Freo when we only had Jack and Ryan (with Pickett as the medium), we then looked good against the Saints (with Miller in for Pickett, though Ryan only played half the game anyway).

I think we should debut Bauer and he would go into that 3rd tall / medium role. So Pickett is out and then its a choice of Miller or Ryan. Ryan has the bigger upside and also kicks a lot more goals so stays in for me.

The other 3 forwards we need smalls, so Clarke and Baker are 2 of them, and need 1 of MRJ / Coulthard needs to join them IMO.

Our forward line is totally out of whack, and we need to rebalance it.
Jack a great of our club has had it. Enough is enough.

No-one and I mean no-one would have kicked any goals from those F50 entries on Thursday.

You've had this axe to grind all season for some reason and are desperate to be proven right.

Jack is still the most likely of our available forwards to kick multiple goals in a game. hence why he remains in our team.

That is simply not true. None of it. You have your head in the sand. Our chances of a top 4 finish are gone and with it the reasons for Jacks extended contract.
We are now in preparation for next season and should be making those plans around a different full forward. Noah is our man.

Noah is an AA CHB. If you can't see that you are blind. I'm sure the club have plans for next year in the trade and FA market. No need to start throwing crap around with our defence just because you think the season has gone.

Seriously, did you actually watch Thursday night yourself? And have you listened to what Dimma said in the podcast about George and role players and them being erroneously judged on stats? Rioli is one of the best pressure and role players we have. And at AFL level Thursday night, we lacked totally what he provides imo. But go ahead, judge a role player on offensive output and stats!
shot your self in the foot straight away with me by saying Biggy and Dow should be included ahead of MJR. Those two will provide zip at AFL level based on what I’ve seen.
Yep I was at the Gabba , obviously you weren’t
Suggest you check where we sit on ladder
As for Rioli . Overweight and skills ordinary as we all know
Have a spell champ seriously

And you don’t think the season is gone
and believe that the sugar fairies are again going to deliver us the means to overcome this tiniest little problem, and just a few more future draft picks will get the job done.

Let’s just say that doesn’t happen. The club had previously planned for Noah to play forward and he did very well there.
But just in case your dreams don’t come true and world peace isn’t achieved you want
.. No.

Don’t worry. It will all turn out well. Noah will be CHB in the world team and Jack is just being naughty.

The club has 2 choices to make .1/ continue on as per normal next year , filling holes hoping to make finals OR strip it back over the next few years and play the kids, obtaining draft picks each year .
The future coach will be decided on these points going forward..

The club play for more than just the now. They clearly see (and rightly so IMO) that Noah is a defender. He just doesn't look like a natural forward. He's an imposing defender, and is a damaging weapon coming out of defence. This is the future for us in the back half. They will work out what works for us in the forward half going forwards.

You don't seem to see that playing Noah back is a long term plan and is a successful one, you seem to think its short term. Its a long term plan and we will continue as a club to go down that route.

Get Jacob Bauer in the team and let him attack in the air with his confidence up high. Jack will be a great teacher to him as a former high marking forward.

I didn’t see the game but I wouldn’t discount the chance of Soldo coming in for Ryan or Miller.

You are probably right to think it won't happen. But wrong imo to think that we should persevere with Jack.
This season is gone and right now we should be looking at options to replace him. You seem confident that we will be bringing in a suitable free agent. That may happen, but it is a bit of a lottery ticket.
The better solution is to look to the assets we have available and seek to sort them out, in time to allow next years team to be prepared to produce the best possible result as a team.

To have a fall back ready to go just in case.

I reckon we can only play 3 out of Jack, Ryan, Miller, Pickett and Bauer (as a forward). But need one of Ryan and Miller.
So either Jack is rested, Bauer doesnt play or Pickett gets dropped or moved back to the wing.

I'll join the sheep and say Bauer should play up forward, drop Ryan back to the VFL to allow him to dominate for a few weeks, and drop Pickett (maybe to sub).

I would also leave Rioli in the VFL for his own good, he needs to get a kick before he comes back to AFL level. We might be better with him in the AFL but i dont think it is good for his development at this point.
Yes, MRJ needs to do more than just be a chase-down tackler. Butler and Costanza were lively fwds with both defensive and attacking skills, provided you closed your eyes if Jason had a set shot!

I agree, more so for Ryan. I know we need to provide games for the younger players, however, Ryan looks 'cooked" in the past games. back to VFL to regenerate and come back after 2 games if appropriate.

We cant play Soldo next to Jack and Ryan or Miller.
I dont think we should play Soldo with Nank while we have either Miller or Ryan in the team who are decent 2nd rucks.
And we cannot stay with 3 slow forwards, especially when none of them can get a kick.

If Soldo came in I’d drop Miller & Ryan and also bring in Bauer

Grimo's confirmed some players had the flu. Also said most of the players know Mini's been a senior coach in waiting.
