Changes V Dees

My guess Cotch will go all out for first half then get subbed when he is spent.

Just had a look at both teams stats for the year and pretty close EXCEPT for the centre clearances.5 more on av for Melb. And turnovers 8 more on av for the Tiges.Think we have got something to work on.

Sonz might be the sub I'd be guessing is he first emergency?

Im assuming the plan will be Cotchin plays 2 1/2 quarters then gets subbed for Sonz.
I’d expect that to be the case too. Regardless of result, I’m expecting more from the team this week - we were very poor in Adelaide

MC consistent. Make the young players the scapegoat for poor team performance. Last chance saloon for some serial undeperformers hopefully

I can still seee Fatty Petracca, Bluey, Fritsch, Langdon and Brayshaw cutting us to bits and May and Lever racking up 20 intercept marks between them whilst Rivers and Petty mind our key forwards.

They are mad risking Gawn IMO, in a game that they should know they can win with Grundy one out.

Theyve had our measure for the last few seasons yet we are still in their heads if they are racing Maxxy back a week or 2 early.
Last 2 seasons, Craig. They beat us in 2021 (when they won the flag) and last year. Prior to that they last won in 2016, and lost every game to us between 2017 - 2020. They’ll still beat us on Monday night, but in no way have they owned us recently.

Geez the sub rule is annoying. I can see why they do it instead of just 5 on the bench, but it’s still annoying.

Gawn didn’t look right to me in the training footage they showed yesterday. Big strapping on the knee…seemed to have a bit of a hipsy gait going. Reckon Pooncebourne might be going a bit early with him.
It’s been 3 weeks for a 6 week injury. Hope he plays.

I can’t see how M Rioli gets selected in this team on form. It’s pressure skills and not much else at the moment.

He’s been ordinary at AFL level, dropped to the VFL against the Bulldogs and was poor (I watched it first hand) & barely average when he came on last week. From my perspective, Monday night is it for him. If he plays poorly, then he should have an extended spell at VFL level & concentrate on getting & using the ball, rather than just defensive acts.

I’d have been far more inclined to persevere with Sonsie that M. Rioli.
Yep. MoJu needs to go back to the 2’s until he learns to find the footy.

And while we’re dropping truth bombs. Martin should be told to get back into the midfield where he belongs. Same with Cotch.

Can we get away with playing Baker forward?

Not sure what Mansell brings to the party. He is an honest trier but doesn't seem to get too involved at times. More suited to VFL for me

Agree Martin needs mid time plus play higher. I’d role Baker through the middle too, now that we have bigger bodies in there.

It’s probably the best team we can pick atm , however I’d like to have seen all the emergencies in the 22 , I might be looking to the future to early

Looked really proppy to me. Big risk to play him.
