I believe all the players vote on who they believe should be captain but no doubt there are more layers to it than just that.

The next intriguing part will be the leadership group. With Co-Captains do they only appoint 1 Vice Captain?
 
Voted for Grimes to be Captain so pretty happy with that. No problem with Nank being co-captain with him. Much ado about nothing.

The motivation for co-Captains is also curious. I would have thought Grimes was the obvious choice and is clearly capable of doing the job so was it a case that they felt Nankervis was the best option and have gone with the co-Captain model to support him? I don't think Grimes would need a co if he was the first choice.

Or did they feel there wasn't a next Captain that was suitable for a year or two after Grimes so wanted to get Nankervis into the role with Grimes to have a soft opening?

If I had to sum up in a word, I'd say weird.

Ive always thought of co-captains is an indecisive each-way bet

but

1. I'm always prepared to revise my POV, and

2. But Nank and Grimesy both only bet the win, and dont have an indecisive bone in their body

I feel like its perfect - Nank is an on-field warrior - a half as good as Trent Cotchin

Grimes is a boy next door media performer off-field, and an inflictor of pain on-field - a half as good as Trent Cotchin

1/2 + 1/2 = 1

Everyone wins

If I was boss of Tigerland, and hadn't thought of this, I'd be :vomit

dont think we need a VC, but dont mind if we do.

So pleased for Nank. When the story of the Dimmasty is told he will be remembered as an absolute warrior. Like Mike Green and Mark Lee, essential to success. Two quality leaders now.
Cotchy is a hard act to follow but these two guys have never let us down and will set the standard.

The more I think of this decision, the more I like it. My pick was Flossy, but the way I see it, the club is hedging its bets. I say they are
looking from an over the ground perspective, and acknowleging the fact that Toby swings both ways and can offer onfield support
at the pointy end. Am I reading this wrong?
 
Quietly wanted Dusty to take it on, but great to see these two lead the team.

We've had plenty of absolute champion players from Tassie, but think Nank is the first permanent Taswegian captain since Royce?

The more I think about it, I’m leaning towards genius.

Two uncompromising Richmond men.
Two hard nuts who would never take a short step on or off the field.
