can we beat the Freakmantle Shockers ?

I have that feeling too and happy to be wrong. But I fear what happened to north may happen to us.

but has Norf shown any form so far this year - they have beaten Brisbane, cats, us and Essendon and lost to Adelaide, Port, Hawthorn, Freo and Collingwood - hard to read really

Just get Morris to " nut " Fyfe in the first qtr n take him out of the game, Stevie then gets sin binned for four n everybody's happy ;D.

Is that 4 weeks or years?

Lol, go easy.
Four weeks is enough for nuttin someone, Stevie is still one of ours regardless of how one feels about his playing ability.

Yet another milestone game to ruin. Michael Johnson plays his 200th.

Talk of some very sore boys over in the Freo camp from last weekends game.

Ripe for the picking IMO.

i reckon Hardwick has a reasonable record against Lyon, considering the teams each has had.
We havent won many but against him, but we have consistently gotten closer than most thought we would have. even last year when we were playing pretty poor we kept with them. the year before the beat us by a point in the last minute in perth and we beat them here. year before we lost be a few goals both times.
i think our style works well against them. patience with the ball is important, their backs, like the dons are good at reading the ball and playing off their man. if we bomb they will out mark us. Jack will prob try to run McPharlin around. and we need to keep Johnson on his man.
Lids to Fyfe. mids to rove Sandilands as we have in the past.
hunt to ballantyne, grimes to Walters.

we should go close.

Fantastic test for us.

Reckon we've got them at a good stage.

Tiges by 2 goals!

I know it was wet but Sandilands Clarke and Taberner got three kicks between them and took two marks against Adelaide.

Weather for Friday in Perth: Partly cloudy - light winds with a temperature of 9 - 23.

Expect those three to be much more influential on Friday night

One person can't be assigned just to Fyfe.

I would rotate a few through him. Where he goes on the ground I would assign a player at each part if the ground. In the middle it would Cotchin who could hurt him the other way. Macintosh who has pace , a big body and hard at the contest but has played only a handful of games. When he floats in our F50 , Deleido goes to him who matches him in the air , has pace and can kick a goal. Grigg when he is in their F50? Just some ideas!

Key match ups are Pav. He has a decent record. Rance goes to him but Pav is a beast.

Sandilands- have to accept we will lose the hit outs but we just have read his tap outs and not allow HOTA as I think he was good against Adelaide. Maric just has to nullify him around the ground and try and kick a goal or two to make him respect Maric.

If Vickery is ok he has to come. McBean may be the unlikely out.

Ballantyne has been poor but in front of his home ground, Friday night you are going to have to pay him respect. Morris back to play on him and hurt him every time he tackles him and Grimes on the dangerous Walters.

Jack can't play stationary as others have said. Jack has to get on his bike as does Griff as he has been doing.

In the middle all our guns have to in there. Miles, Cotchin, Martin, Mac, Maric, Edwards and Deleido and Grigg ( who has been doing quite well) (wings pushing in).

What game style does he bring to the table. Similar to the style he played against the Power and Dons.

We have to make the most of our chances at goal. Can't afford more Pts than goals. Pressure, pressure.

We have to start well in the first quarter as Freo in most of their games have blown sides apart in the first half and then shut shop. They have been playing differently from last year. They can't allow them a quick first quarter 7-8 goal first quarter start. We gave to be with them. Have to inane tackle , tackle , tackle . Be aggressive from the first bounce.

Limit our turnovers would also go a long way. Can't allow a North type game otherwise it will be an ugly result for us.

We have a good record . We seem to travel well. We match up well. We have a chance but many things have to fall our way.

Which Tiger team will turn up.?

I think Jack's full team effort on Fyfe is the right one. Every player on our side must make sure they give Fyfe an extra hard tackle, bump, spoil etc whenever they get a chance. 22 players giving that extra 10% in the physical contact with Fyfe is the only way to slow him down a bit. he's human after all.

Clouds over Spurr, Walters and McPharlin, from most to least cloud-y, as reported on 6pr 30 mins ago

I reckon we will do well but the umps will tip the momentum their way at a crucial point in the game. Dockers by 16 points.
This seems likelyish

McPharlin at his age would be expected to be rested considering the travel and conditions last week.

We are going to need an extra runner on the big Subiaco oval, so for that reason only I'd bring Gordon in for Cialis, he'd be stiff to miss out but we're going to need a bit more run.
Vickery if fit to come in for McBean.

I like your thinking.

30mins 0f C Ellis are better than 120mins of Gordon just sayin

i like the way the selection panel has had to roll the dice with players lately, but Gordon is a risk. Hasn't shown much, but apparently he played okay in the 2s last weekend. My roll of the dice gets Jayden Short a game - maybe not this week, but soon?

Freo don't seem to enjoy anything like the same free kick imbalance that the Eagles do at home. Can think of a few games where we've been stitched up over there, though.
