Brandon Ellis

Apart from the other attributes listed above, Brando has a big tank and a pretty good kick so if, in your scenario, it is Brando or Conca, I would go Conca. Concs is a potentially skilful player but his output is down in just about every area except tackles and if sent forward Brando can kick goals, Concs is definitely suspect in that area.

thats fair enough. Like i said, Id like to roll the dice and trade ONE of those two. very difficult hypothetical call. I reckon they are very close in terms of value to the team, but err toward the TV + BE = JC trade for three reasons

1. I think brandons currency is greater and his stocks are rising. buy low, sell high.
2. I think brandon is easyER to replace than conca. note the ER.
3. JC would almost certainly hold down CHF for a decade. and almost certainly be AA CHF a few times during that decade, especially with dusty, The Chimp, conca, vlastuin, lids and jared pickett sticking it down his gullet.

I want to stress, without hitting the capslock, that I love Brandon. Im saying I'd love Cameron at CHF more. and you aint gonna land a JC by offering up matt arnott and ben griffiths.

Is he a one season wonder or just having a down season?

the latter. you dont nearly win the coleman and AA in a side that doesnt win a game by fluke. STAR.

What about if we chuck in Matt Thomas too - he could offer some valuable experience to the young Giants.... >:D

im sure i read from JC a week or two back that his is extremely happy and has instructed his manager to start neg a new contract with GWS....

Well if we are going to load up the deal, throw Grigg in as well, but wait there's more, make a decision by GF Day and we will throw in Morris absolutely free and we will pay their removal costs!

:hihi

3 points on the suggested trade.
The Giants already have 2 200cm forwards who can ruck. I doubt they would look to add another at the expense of a mobile tall forward like Cameron.
Secondly, we need to play a forward who can ruck. If it is not TV, it is Hampson, Griff or Elton. Any of those 3 could be an option but none has shown they are an option yet. I doubt we would want to be entering games with McBean as our 2nd ruck in 2015.
3rd point, why would we want Cameron when we have a better, taller version in McBesus anyway?

I personally think Patton will be the pick of GWS's talls. May I offer the alternative hypothesis:

In: Patton, pick 20
Out: Ellis, TV

Always a risk with his knee reco.

You wouldn't want him to do it again and turn into David Schwarz. But then again Richo did his knee early on in his career and didn't miss a beat.

thats a euphemism for 'tell the tigers 4 for 6'.

we must have watched vastly different games.

Ive been wrong once before, but I reckon JC could be the next royce hart, patton the next quentin lynch

Did you watch their cats game? Patton was clunking everything. Running up the wings. Delivering well. Once he's got the requisite motor he'll be a monstrous CHF. More than a hint of Jono Brown about him

JC out for the rest of the year he require's surgery on his left ankle .

Guess JC won't be walking on water any time soon then, must be a dud if he can't even heal the lame either.

nah didnt see it. but hes a freakin monster. They have to get a spinnaker of Brindabella to make his shorts. and they are a tight fit.

Hopefully Patton-Boyd-Cameron becomes their Roach-Cloke-Taylor problem, and we play collingwoods part.

I believe we are losing out on that one.

If in the extremely unlikely event that Ellis and Vickery were to be traded to GWS and we were to receive Patton, I would be also be asking for :

O'Rourke (number 2 draft pick who hasn't shown much but smashed it in the juniors - could be a bust but a good risk);
1st round pick in the mid teens.

TV hitting his straps and has shown the footy world what he is capable of - Boyd has been so-so and Cameron out for the rest of the year. KPP's very important for them.

Ellis has been one of our most consistent and best this season - he will be elite.

Just to reiterate what JC is.

21 years old. 194/90 (genuine CHF size). 50 games, 120 goals. for a basketcase crap side. they are Richo numbers. better in fact.

If you wouldnt give TV and young Brandon for him, as admirable as your loyalty is, youre on the left hand side of the bell curve, in terms of list management smarts. IMO.

We have Jack, Tyrone and young McBean, sure Cameron would be great but i think mids are a higher priority. Ellis is already a very good player but he will continue to get better, i think we should get more mids rather than get rid of one.
