Ran his absolute clacker off. I thought he was fantastic.
Ran himself into the ground. That bloody kick for a lolly pop goal was a classic, legs were absolutely shot.

It's not just those two, personally I think we need some serious tackling practice, our technique is non existent, opposition teams either break the tackle too easily or get their arms free to offload the ball. A couple of training sessions with Melbourne Storm wouldn't do any harm.
The best tackle was laid by Arnott, and he probably won't play next week. I thought Ellis was pretty handy. Racked up another 30+ possessions. Game would have been a lot better if he'd managed to nail a couple of shots he had on goal.

He had 33 possessions, 0 of which were contested.

Possibly one of the hardest working and fittest players in the league to rack up such huge numbers with such crazy uncontested ratios. But it's not good if he starts getting attention.

Did some okay things forward apart from that kick for goal that didn't make it.

Looks good on the lead and isn't a bad mark.

If he gets a tag then forward he goes.

He is our sidebottom. Won't go near a contest. But at least he does something with it when his got it. Not like others

Another high possession game.

Reminds me of Leigh Montagna at times, but with more pace and a more solid body.

Can be elite.

Will be hard for Grigg to get back in the team.

There was a crucial contest in the last, 40m in front of us on the wing.

He ran past two Port players to win the ball to pump it forward. Created a shot at goal. Super impressive.

I noticed that as well. If he can improve in these 'desperation'/defence to offence rebounding areas, the sky is the limit.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him top 5 in the BnF.

Not quite at the "Delicious" status yet.
But certainly at the "tasty" stage.

who is Grigg?

Article on the RFC site talking abount Brandy's high possession counts of late.

"And, to further highlight the impact he’s been having, Ellis has collected 29 disposals or more in each of the past five rounds."

I wonder if this is because of Grigga's position being freed up due to his injury. It was about 5 weeks ago Grigg pung his hammy, yeah? Pretty sure Ellis has been filling in Shauns position on the field since. I may be mistaken though.

I don't mean to lay the boot into Grigg anymore then what he already cops, but it does seem he may well have been replaced.

We have been saying for a while that when players like Grigg become genuine depth rather than best 22 it's a sign that the team has improved. So if Brandon has taken the role and does more with it than Grigg did, then that' s a very good thing going forward.

Gun gun gun.

Still needs to work through a tag scenario, but I'd say that adding the CP machines of Vlastuin and Miles to inside mid has vastly improved the outlook of the whole division.

Throw in Conca, Jacko and Cotch for inside work with Ellis joining Lids, Plugga, Dusty and Lennon on the outside, I say bring on 2015.

Now if only we had a coach that wasn't so damnably conservative ...

Brandon would be one i'd roll the dice on at trade time. Could easily end up with a whole omlette on my face, but if you were guarenteed to win when rolling the dice, there would be dice rolling everywhere you looked. He has real currency. real currency. Brandon + TV in tantalising package that could and should set us up a decade.

That kind off package would land A top 3 pick and a promising disaffected young'n (saints, dogs, lions would be obvious suitors) OR go a very long way to landing a JC or PD.

with pick 3, 9 and 27 this year, I reckon we could rule the world.

I love brandon though.

36 possessions against a crap team. look, I rate ellis as a big talent, but the question needs to be asked... is he a downhill skier?

Like Grigg, Marlon plays better when we're dominating.

I wouldn't trade him. Has some weaknesses but there's a fair bit of improvement in him yet.

No 1 for handballs
No 1 for uncontested possession
No 1 for rebound 50's
No 1 for bounces (equal with Dusty)
No 2 for total marks
No 3 for kicks
No 3 for total disposals
Ave disposals 15.7 per game in 2012
Ave disposals 18.6 per game in 2013
Ave disposals 25.9 per game in 2014

Obviously runs very hard and coming along very nicely and he is not yet 21 ...... Trade him? I don't think so IMO

Just to make myself clear.

1. im not saying trade him for dean cox, im saying trade him to help land a paddy dangermouse.
2. Im an advocate for us trading big this year. so you need some good bait. Your obviously not gonna trade chimp, dusty or vlastuin. I think trading Lids would hurt too much. hes done the hard times. I think it comes down to Conca or Ellis. I'd back conca to turn into the better player. But its a toughie.
