I think the conservative approach shows the clubs belief our list is coming along nicely, personally i would be very surprised if we engaged any of our top 10 players in draft discussions..

Im not saying this is the right or wrong approach, just think we are happy with our youth and looking to offload some 25-40 player range that hold little currency but we will try to get what we can for them, and obviously use our picks wisely..

Given our current operating over past few years i would be shocked if they as some suggested offered almost any player up in a aggressive style approach.

Your probably right TT74, and I wouldnt mind that either, on the proviso we use our draft picks reducing our deficiencies, which Im firmly of the belief is speed and hurt (goals). Keep our list largely in tact and add some run and flair and ill be happy.

I said it after round 1, but I'll say it again. Our premium on toughs, character and kicking (i.e. dimma moulding the side in his own image) has been at the expense of leg speed (you cant have everything). NOW is the time to rectify the imbalance. A couple of lightening fast, mercurial kids are in order.

Strangely, after the season weve had, I dont think we are in a bad position.

I agree with ALL GW..

I hope we can get some quality Mids with leg speed, also get some new Assistants in to help Dimma (whether anyone likes it or not he will be there in 2015).. I also wouldnt be adverse to being aggressive and getting 1-2 guns in depending on the cost.

I like our top 10-15 or so, still need to cover some weakness's but where not as far off as our position indicates IMO. Still lacking depth but its slowly improving with the likes of Dea and Batch etc

Ellis & TV for Cameron. You'd do it everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

Good suggestion Golly.

Depends which side of the deal you're on.

well you certainly wouldnt want to be TV or young brandon thats for sure. Imagine doing twice the work of tom scully for half the money.

But, it could be a win:win.

TV slots into JC's spot and comes on + they have a gun'ish mid straight into the square: We stick JC at CHF for 10 years.

Is it realistic?

Agree, genuine game changer and power move.

Wouldn't be against it if we were reasonably sure we could find an immediate replacement for Ellis. Getting Mackay through FA would make it easier to stomach IMO

Yep, exactly Stylo, Mackay would be a perfect get to play Ellis role. That is what you use FA for.

We can't trade Marlon. He's taken over from The Chimp as the face of the juniors members. Brando's Buddies.

I wouldn't.

Ellis is close to untouchable for mine. But then again hes my favourite player.

No 1 for handballs
No 1 for uncontested possession
No 1 for rebound 50's
No 1 for bounces (equal with Dusty)
No 2 for total marks
No 3 for kicks
No 3 for total disposals
Ave disposals 15.7 per game in 2012
Ave disposals 18.6 per game in 2013
Ave disposals 25.9 per game in 2014

Obviously runs very hard and coming along very nicely and he is not yet 21 ...... Trade him? I don't think so IMO
But but but! He doesn't tackle, down hill skier who runs hard ahead of the ball but doesn't chase back the other way. Definite unaccountable trade bait according to some of the posts I've read on here recently.

Just to make myself clear.

1. im not saying trade him for dean cox, im saying trade him to help land a paddy dangermouse.
2. Im an advocate for us trading big this year. so you need some good bait. Your obviously not gonna trade chimp, dusty or vlastuin. I think trading Lids would hurt too much. hes done the hard times. I think it comes down to Conca or Ellis. I'd back conca to turn into the better player. But its a toughie.

Apart from the other attributes listed above, Brando has a big tank and a pretty good kick so if, in your scenario, it is Brando or Conca, I would go Conca. Concs is a potentially skilful player but his output is down in just about every area except tackles and if sent forward Brando can kick goals, Concs is definitely suspect in that area.

No no no -- untouchable.

Will be a superstar. Can do everything this kid (except use afterburners).

2015 = Jack Dyed medal. Calling it now.

Ease up lads, there has been one driver of the Ellis Express from before he was drafted. ;D

Not sure on the Cameron trade.

Cameron has been distinctly average this season. Last year GWS flooded the backline leaving the whole 50 metre arc for Cameron to work over his opponent. Now that Patton and Boyd have come into the mix, Cameron hasn't had the same impact, as he requires space to get separation.

Is he a one season wonder or just having a down season?
