Brandon Ellis

All will be great players but I think Ellis will be the best out of the last 3 first draft picks (Ellis, Conca, Vlaustin). He has amazing composure. Hard to believe it's just his 2nd year.

An inspired trade to get Ellis, well sort of.

We traded pick 14 in 2011 for pick 15 (Ellis) and Steve Morris.

What a win that was!!

And to think Eliis is going through his second years blues.

I think the first three weeks were kind of bluesish. But once he got rid of the sub vest, he is flying. I likened him to Jarred McVeigh when he was drafted and I still think he ends up that good. The beauty of the midfield we are building is that you cannot tag every one. Jump on Chimp, Martin, Ellis and Conca run free. We just need a couple more running finishers around the half forward line and we are flying.

Big challenge for Ellis next week. Will have Armfield tagging him. There is no doubt about that. Armfield shut him out 3 weeks ago. Ellis needs to work Armfield into the ground.

Had a fantastic year.

I notice that majority of his possessions are uncontested. Will have his work cut out next week on armfield. Needs to really get on his bike to break the tag

I reckon he's a bit too slow for the midfield IMO.

I honestly thought Brandy would just be a bit player, do some okay things, drift out of games and be a low disposal getter. Always thought he'd play 150+ but only ever thought he'd be a good ordinary footballer.

So glad I was incredibly wrong. So, so wrong.

It was well worked by Francis that one.

Remember when we used to be rapt if a player became a decent footsoldier? Now we have TV, Ellis, Vlas, Conca, Grimes all tracking toward elite. Its a whole new world.

He does seem a lot quicker this year than last though TT, I would have agreed with you at the time.

Just underestimated his ability to get the most out of himself. Couple that attribute with his obvious natural talent and he's a ripper

I was the same Toolman, thought he'd be a good player, not there yet but expectations lifted now. I think my view was just inbuilt defence mechanism after years of failure, all too good to be true.

I'd send Ellis to Kade Simpson. Perfect match.
