But did look cooked yesterday in the last. The entire squad did. Very light week on the track this week I reckon.
yeh I think your right. short 6 day break before the hawks and then played them in the wet also caught up with them in the second half.

Have you seen a higher work rate in a 2nd year kid?

His numbers after the sub games at the start of the year speak for themselves. Posted them last week. Roughly 25 disposals and 7 marks a game. Pushes himself to be involved multiple times in the same possession chain which gives an out to the player with the ball if pressured or in trouble.

Rarely agree with you Barnzy but on this I do. Champ in the making.

Not sure.

BOG for me in the first qtr then dropped off.

I'm pretty sure Arnfield went to him.
Can't blame him, I thought he was the only player we had yesterday that could hit a target.

I thought Armfield did a terrific job. I also thought Brandy looked a bit off colour. A couple of his chases in the second half were very un-Brandon. Reckon he was either crook or buggered.

agree. at 1/4 time i was thinking how good is he, a couple of great passes to Jack on his left led to goals, plus 2 of his own. then nothing.
maybe Armfield was tagging him, i didnt notice but a article on the game said he was. perhaps he was buggered from our reported heavy training load.

whatever it was, still very happy with Ellis. very valuable all-round player. good skills, runs, hard and a goal kicker.

on a side note the afl site had an AA under 23 team. Martin and Cotchin made it. Vlastuin was mentioned as an unlucky, but no mention of Ellis. stupid 'journo'.

Said this last week before I knew of the loading period.,And it held true yesterday.

Ellis was the star of the first quarter but looked like he was running in wet cement after the first. This will be the taper week and hopefully Ellis and others look much fresher next week.

Ellis was huffing and puffing in the first qtr after kicking his 2nd.
Are we fit enough? Who's our fitness bloke? We might need butterbean from Collingwood

Thinking that maybe Ellis is so unfit, he couldn't run out past the 1st quarter? Of course we're fit enough, players will often be puffed after a piece of play. Fitness is about your ability to recover quickly, not whether you huff and puff at any given moment.

Love the kid, but his work below the knees isn't that good. Get's pushed off the ball easily but he makes up for his skills below the knees with his overhead marking.

Regardless, he is a beauty and once he get's another pre season into him watch out.

Hell he runs all day and pops up where needed today. He has a grade 1 kick on him and scored a couple of beauties today. In a couple of seasons he will be unstoppable

How far was that roosted goal? I was on the phone in the other room when he kicked it, looked like a speared 60m, can't have been though

the development of this kid in his 2nd year is unbelievable.

thought he would a good player for us but im starting to think he could be a bit better than good.

maybe even elite... fingers crossed

Yeah, we have a beauty. Just fits the team perfectly. Excellent outside and I am sure over time will get better on the inside. Type of player who will lift for big games and finals.
