Brandon Ellis

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Great that money isn't the major factor influencing his re-signing.

Hopefully the club made a fair and reasonable offer.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

How much is he worth currently? For a second year player, my guess it's pretty high. Maybe 300 ish?

Bromance.
Mancrush.

Call it what you will.

Remember when he was drafted and was so happy he was gonna stay in Melbourne, I think we were the first Victorian team to have a pick. He just wanted to be close to his family and is showing how he much he wants to repay the tigers.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

fantastic to think we are going to be enjoying Brandy and Tigga for years to come. Its hard not to think that they must be getting excited about what is being built at Punt Rd.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Ellis, Martin, Vlastuin, Chimp, Conca and Foley. All tough big-assed mids. After Wallets flight of fancy with thin hipped girly flankers its been a long time comin'

Add Tuck, Delidio, Edwards and Jackson ( who is facing a terrific season) and that's about as hard, tuff, quick, skilled and deep as a contender needs to be

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

a friend of mine tonight asks "hey, you guys (the tigers) have got a guy called brandon ellis playing for you now yeah?"

i replied "yup"

she says, "i used to work at this daycare centre and he used to come over from his house when he was about 4 years old and hang around the playground. He'd practice everyday kicking for goals! I swear i have never seen a kid so obsessed with anything like him and football! EVERYDAY he'd hang around, we'd have to kick him out eventually and tell him to go home as the centre was closing!"

pretty cool huh ;)

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Really happy with Ellis. Still, hought there were a couple of instances on Saturday when he got slightly ahead of himself. Took a couple of shots at goal when teammates were in better spots. Perhaps a little excited by the hype around him? I'm sure the coaches would have seen this and would be addressing it.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

I liked Ellis' debut season and I thought he may have a little trouble backing it up, but glad to see that's not the case and he's actually improved. Hope Flossy can do the same.

Would have also been the first time our last 7 first rounders have played together. JR, Cotchin, Vickery, Martin, Conca, Ellis, Vlastuin :)

Have to go all the way back to JON to find a first round bust.

And we recomp the JON pick by pinching Daisy Thomas (#2 in 2005)

First rounders unite

Chaplin
Deledio
Thomas
Riewoldt
Cotchin
Vickery
Martin
Conca
Ellis
Vlastuin

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Love this kid. Think there is one more trick we havent seen yet, a stint at FF. He has very sticky hands and poses more defensive headaches for opposition match ups. A lot like Marin up front. Strong, smart and excellent overhead..... Hard to think his only a 2nd year player.

This kid is our Dan Hannebury. Very close indeed at the same age. If you don't believe it check Footywire. We have a gem here.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Brandon is not playing at full steam since the hammie. He is playing cautious. Very cautious. If he doesn't wear the vest this week he may just go mental. To date his second year season has been brilliantly handled and he has distinguished himself. The blips have only improved him.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

His my 50-50 player. His good is outstanding and his bad is very average
There's no in between.
He will get better the more years he spends in the system.
