Brandon Ellis

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Big reason why we have improved this year. I can rely on him against any opponent. Great mark for a midfielder, tough and finishes around goal nicely.

This kid is our Dan Hannebury. Very close indeed at the same age. If you don't believe it check Footywire. We have a gem here.

Love this kid. Just does soo much right when he's out there. Must be a dream to coach.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

I like that he's usually good for a goal a week, his one against the Saints came out of nowhere and it was at the time we needed one, too.

I was down that end when he kicked that and it was a great snap. My only criticism was that there were other tigers free nearer to goal - a better percentage play would have been a pass or handball. I would have been filthy had he missed.

But at the end of the day he kicked it..

On the other hand it's a good trait that he's prepared to back himself.

His my 50-50 player. His good is outstanding and his bad is very average
There's no in between.
He will get better the more years he spends in the system.

??? Probably been our most consistent young player this year (once he was let loose from the vest). Is there another Ellis at metro league Tigers you've been cobfusing him with?

Nah, his good is really good, but still makes basic errors.
I still think he will be a very good kid for us

Very few basic errors. In fact, take away the first 4 games where he started sub, Ellis is averaging over 20 effective disposals a game, on top of the list at the Tigers, and would put him in the Top 5 in the league. In support of those stats I can't say I go away thinking, gee Ellis made a lot of mistakes today. Is very reliable and could end up being be the best 1st round pick for us in the last 3 years.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Yeah, I don;t see too many basic errors either. In fact, I love how you can always count on Brandy to pick the correct option every time. Solid player IMO.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Was really looking the goods until his unfortunate collision yesterday.

Hope he pulls up well.

Unfortunate?

Perfect execution by the Banana Fritter yesterday.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

It's a shame we couldn't square up. But there was that moment where Goldstein was real slow to get up.

Next time. *smile*.

Burrito was going for the footy, no sniping involved....sour grapes.

Yep when i saw it i wanted to say it was a dog act but he actually turned and tried to minimise the impact. Nothing untowards in that play.

Well late, and well disguised. Ellis would have been on their radar. Mission accomplished, Scott & Furrito.
No foul. If it was a knee that did the damage it could be suspect but it was head on the roos thigh.
An accident pure and simple

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Fritter's a master at getting there half a second late n looking to avoid. Ellis was unfortunately tumbling backward from the mark n got smeared by the banana. What should have been a bit of body on to make him earn his mark wound up a bit uglier, but it's a signature dish for the banana.
