Didn't miss a beat. What a beaut. Fancy nabbing him and Morro with one pick.

Yeah it's one of the great deals that is never mentioned.

Just stepped right back in and didn't miss a beat. Every touch he gets he moves it on quickly and looks to get back involved by running super hard from behind the ball.

His nickname has to be Flex Ellis.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

He becomes a tough matchup for opposition coaches when they have to worry about Lids, Newman, Houli and now this guy being release players as he ball comes out of defense.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

If we add another 1st Rounder this year of the quality of Ellis or Vlastuin again....our midfield is gonna be one slick machine.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Needs a touch more confidence, because he does belong now and then i think we will have a gun in the making.
Better player then Conca.
Conca goes into packs, but isn't as creative as this kid.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

A very good player, is very good overhead which is a great attribute.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

A great game again. Loved his goals. The second one was telling as he would not have kicked that last year.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Richmond doesn't have a young Dane Swan. All we've got is the child champ Nick Vlastuin on one wing and Brandon Ellis on the other.

BTW how about Brandon's efforts from a no-win situation? He started that game scratchy and then went mental.

A month off and then at 19yo he was even more desperate than Jake King or Steve Morris.

Whoa.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Brandon Ellis is eight months older than Flossy.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Great player. Always hard at the pill and runs both ways.

Probably the best mark in our side to boot. A long way to get in his class, but there is a bit of Bartel about Ellis I reckon.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

When I first saw him play I put him in the "solid citizen, nothing exciting" category and to be honest I was a little underwhelmed for a number 15 pick. I was wrong, there is much more to this kid than that.

He is quicker than I thought, very good overhead and has a really decent hoof on him. He still prone to the odd mistake but that will improve.

Yesterday was the first time the last 4 first round picks in Ellis, Vlastuin, Conca and Martin have played together I believe. Good times coming.

Would have also been the first time our last 7 first rounders have played together. JR, Cotchin, Vickery, Martin, Conca, Ellis, Vlastuin :)

Have to go all the way back to JON to find a first round bust.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

He was good last year and he's improving on it. Become a very important part of the side in a very short space of time.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

I'm really "excited" by this guy. Seems like he's been playing for ages - and regularly comes out ahead in one on one (even one on three) contests.

:clap

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

If his draft year was done again he would be top 10. Just one slight on him is below the knees work needs to improve

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Excellent return to the team; played really well. His goals showed a touch of class and composure. Will be a really good player for a long time.

"They started talking to my manager the week before the Melbourne game ... and I said whatever they offer me, just take it - I want to sign,'' Ellis told the Herald Sun.

Bromance.
Mancrush.

Call it what you will.

It is true. I wonder how often that's happened before? LTRTR, would you know?
