Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Top midfields include the not so glamorous guys, those that don't have anything in particular that can be labelled elite but are uber important . The players who turn up each week and do a job not matter what. Brad Sewell, Luke Ball, Jude Bolton etc etc.

This is my hope, maybe an expectation, for Brandon Ellis.

I'd say those 3 Sin have elite toughness an clean hands under pressure

Ellis will be a gun, has the skill and the desire.

He had a very good year, considering it was his 1st year. I've got good feelings with this kid could be a star half back flanker or become a clone Paul chapman.
Great pick up

I agree Zipper .... great potential and had a great year. He will be an important player for us I reckon. Has some great skills and reads the play well.

Good, and mouth watering, comparisons. I love Jude Bolton - one of those champions that noone will remember. Great first year from Ellis and too be winning time trials at the start of year 2 is pretty darn exciting. With Big Grundy Pants sticking it down their throats in the years to come, our Fab 5 are gonna have a ball.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Fantastic to hear that he won the time trial, what a great role model to both, young and old at the club.

He's an ok kick. There were quite a few ropey ones mixed in there in his first year.

I agree, but I think most of the ropey ones were sneaking in toward the end of the year due to fatigue. His skills were good/very good early in the year.

Love Lester. Something about him reminds me of Sam Mitchell a bit. Hope he turns out that good!

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Good signs to be leading time trails at this stage of his career. If he can develop a strong tank could be the that extra A grade midfielder we need.

Conca & Ellis have a big opportunity to grab a permanent midfield spot this year, play with the same level of intensity as Captain Cotch would be a good start.

I just hope the club is monitoring how much work Ellis is doing away from the club. I remember Cotchin getting a bit too keen in his second pre-season and coming up lame. I'd hate Ellis to be sprinting at the start of a marathon and getting to say March / April and thinking "sh.... the season is long"!

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Don't reckon there will be too much difference between Conca and Ellis at the end of 2013.

2 fine young players. Have liked Conca from the start and Ellis had an excellent first year also. Predict bright futures for both.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Very exciting to hear his time trial was good.

At worst you can see this guy becoming a decent accumulator of the footy. Would love to see him turn into that mid that wins 30-40 possies consistantly. You will have Deledio/Cotchin hurting teams with skill but then Ellis might hurt them with sheer weight of posessions he gathers.

Reminds me a bit of Ryan Batsanic from North

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

speaking of conca, wouldve liked to have seen him up near the top 3 in these time trials.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Just watched the stk rich game from last year again. Geez this kid is good. Going to be something! My tip for most improved this year.

That fourth qtr clutch goal for a 10 game player
His winning the time trial this year
His consistent form all year
4 games over 20 pozzies

I'm excited about this kids future

Agreed just watch the training footage on the RFC website & he looks very fit along with Martin & Newman who was training as a midfielder.
