Thats one happy lad.

Love this kid.

Star of the future.

Amazing physique for an 18 year old.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Really enjoying the Brandon Eliis era. Have a massive soft spot for the boy. Had a very difficult childhood and most defiantly doesn't have the silver spoon treatment. Is the typical Richond throwback footballer from the hard times.

I think he has huge upside. No telling how good he can be. I think over time he becomes a smaller Luke Hodge/Heath Shaw hybrid.

That goal was the sign of a footballer who delivers under pressure. Footy smarts were required. Oh how nice to be getting those in the door every year. But Juffa is right, he jumped out of the way. Has to get better at that.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Kid must have played some rugby league as a tacker, he's got no neck.
Just love the build on our young kids coming through, stuff all flying pencils.

Watched Ellis closely today.

He needs to really concentrate and make sure that his handballs and chip-kicks hit the target.

I know that he is young, but smalls need to have skills quality early.

There were too many times that his disposals missed their targets, caused turnovers, and put his own team mates under unnecessary physical pressure.

Hitting his target with a bulls eye needs to be Ellis' focus in coming games.

Congratulations to Ellis on a much improved game.

Watching it, I don't recall Ellis missing the target on any handball or kick to a fellow player throughout the game.

Well done!

He did miss a couple, but still a good game from the boy. I look forward to what he will become.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Even when he makes the odd mistake - you can see what the kid is attempting to do. Generally attempting to create an advantage possession - not just a possession. You don't mind a mistake now and then when a kid is taking the game on.

The thing I liked about that goal was that when he got the ball - he tore forward, he didn't hesitate. He did his thinking at top pace - but made sure if anything was going to happen - it was when he was attacking the situation.

Hehe...was about to say the same thing.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

His mark of the Goddard kick-in in the second quarter that led to the Edwards out of the air goal was another example of the way he attacks it. Great to see.

Only 18... WOW!!!!

Yep. As a 38 year old, I look at guys like him less than half my age and think...wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley.

He is huge. What are the youth of today eating that makes them so big???

disagree leysy. ellis has all the tools, great hands, feet, composure smarts and a tank. may lack a yard in pace but plenty lacking this have won b&f's. experience and pre-seasons will give him the hardness, but has the skill set to make a great midfielder imo.

that goal in the last was perfectly executed for someone so young. ellis and conca give us some proper midfield depth.

If he wins a B&F whilst Deledio/Cocth/Martin/Reiwoldt/Grimes/Rance are still art the club he will have produced some sensational football.

For his limited experience he has been fantastic, thought he had a distinct lack of pace but hasn't been exposed at all. As someone pointed out he does not fumble and makes good decisions, a midfielder of the future for sure.

Corey Enright has won it twice at the cats.

Really looks in need of a rest. Some very tired efforts today.

Should've been rested after StKilda. The kid's getting burnt.
