Boy this lad is very slow :(

oh ok Whites fast what does that mean, Edwards is nippy but shanks it more times than not and btw i dont think Ellis is that slow or super quick but is a damn good ball user and has very good skills, id take that over having an only asset of speed any day of the week...

Add me to the surprised list for him being subbed. If he had pace would have been a top 5 pick I suspect.
Development policy
the kid is young and only plays 50-60 percent of games to keep him fresh For the long season
He will probably miss weeks so he can see out the season

Exactly. Ellis could be used like Steele Sidebottom. Both are slow off the mark but very good ball users. As others have both if he was quicker he would have been drafted well before our pick.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Saw he was given the job on Kerr for times during the game. Will have learnt from that.
Didn't mind the sub as he looked to be running on the spot before the goal.

i was suprised he was subbed but whitey gave us something when he came on

Unfortunately that something didn't provide much benefit to the team.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Another super effort by Brandon.

Does not look phased by AFL football at all. Super composed, time with the ball and doesn't turn it over.

Will become a mid.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Yep, good game, just needs to get stronger in the tackle (which will come with a preseason or two)

His ball drop is an interesting one but his kicking is good

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Brandon "Composed" Ellis. 18 years old? i thought he had played footy for 10 years. brilliant pickup! keep killing it out their brando. great game

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Really like this kid, but thought he went missing in the second half today after a really strong showing in the first.

Did anyone else think this?

Yep. Needs a motor. But he's handy at this point. Solid start to his career.

Yep fair summation. Ability is there but needs pre seasons.
He is very good at times and then looks as if he is running on the spot.

Kicked the goal pretty well. We should try him in attack a few times.

I thought Morris and Ellis had a pretty good third term. They over used the handball perhaps that was more to do with a lack of run in the forward half.

Had a helluva lotta mates in this regard in the 3rd q, but hard to ask more of him this early in - keep it up, Brandon

18 years old.
Give him a few years.
My cult hero at the club.
Love this kid.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

He is a big body for an 18 yo, massive set of shoulders on him.
I can see him playing as an inside mid down the track after 2-3 pre-seasons.
His role on a HBF is very important and suits hi mat this point.
