Going backwards at a rate of knots. Fumbly, misses goals, short-steps, sells teammates into trouble. Bathwater Central. Drop him. Play Menadue.

I've said this a long time ago. Players like Ellis won't get you to the big dance.
I say it again, he plays every game like its its first.
And Brendan YOU CAN USE YOUR LEFT FOOT TOO

Calling it now.

This guy will be the number 1 PRE whipping boy come Rd 11.

Grigg, Beanie even Hampson. Rest easy lads, think your about to be overtaken.

Which would be a shame, because he has some excellent traits to have the road take a different path.

Unfortunately if the pre-season is anything to go by, Brandon along with his coaching staff have let his weaknesses continually fester to this point.

Really? I better start paying more attention to his positives.

Can't have this. He's being coached terribly.

Thrown on a back flank for the preseason and basically working within the defensive 50. What ever happened to the power running long kicking Leigh Montagna clone we were all waiting for and saw in the first two years? What happened to the link man working tirelessly between the 50's? He's been coached into a sideways kicking, nothing kick getter.

This isn't talent. This isn't desire, it's the way he is being used.

Yeah your probably right Scoop.

His inside game and work below his knees is getting worse as well.

He was never going to be an inside brute but the coaching staff have allowed him to be a far less rounded player than he should be at this stage.

Cop out to blame the coaches. As Leysy says, he is terrible inside and below the knees. He persists with the stupid banana kick. He misses goals when clear. He short-steps and sets up teammates to be smashed instead of taking the hit himself. He bludges on defence, yet works back deep when there's a kick on offer. The most overrated player on our list.

For the role he plays, we now have McIntosh, who runs at least as hard and hits much harder. We also have Menadue, who has a big tank like Brando, plus elite speed and skills that Brando lacks. He's harder than Brando even at flyweight. Rioli potentially the same. Drummond has endurance plus pace. Markov showing potential.

Perhaps not all of them will make it (I have doubts about Drummond) but Brando cannot afford to get complacent. And that's what it looks like.

Of course, the wise old man Dyer'ere says there are no complacent players, only complacent coaches, and that is a worry with ours. "We've got Maric, we're fine"; "Chappy is a lock"; "We don't need to play Beanie".

Perhaps a bit each-way. Whichever, it's a concern.

Almost scared at times last night. Always seems to miss that shot on goal too. Not quite sure where he is best suited, his delivery is generally poor and doesn't really win his own ball. Can get up and down the ground, that's about it.

Yeah I agree. No excuse for not being hard enough, and especially not working hard enough.

Seems to grow a leg when there is a cheap kick on offer, which is something I would have thought Hardwidwick would hate.

Looks like you're right, Laser. I want it on record that I've been bagging him since at least mid-2015. ;D

Wtf has happened to this kid?

Going backwards.

I think it's stagnation, not necessarily going backwards. Needs to get more hurt factor to his game, but I think the game plan has limited him somewhat.

I'm doing a Baloo. I'm sticking fat with the boy. As one of Scoop's draft demands it's in the contract.

He'll come good. Will play 250 games.
