And he's been a pretty good footballer for most of them.

Hard to be terrible and play 250 games.
Neither of them are terrible footballers. Pretty good is about right.

Really? Brent is softer than butter, and is the Bummers turnover king. I dont consider Brandon the equal of him.

Think he's another one we/the club have overrated can get the ball but does nothing creative with it or turns it over.

Poor version of Steele Sidebottom.
Both play likes cats but Sidebottom burns you on the score board. Ellis first instinct is turn and go sidewards or backwards.
Terrible coaching and development

Brando might be better than Stanton, but that is by far the most accurate comparison for him.

Good comparison AT THE SAME AGE. I hope BEllis goes past him in the next two years.

Surprised to see this bloke cops such a hiding from everyone on here, might not be the quickest or best user of the ball but there is no doubt his run and ability to work into space is important for the side. He's an important role player. Like most in the team if he can stand up and set the standard in a game at the pointy end of the season then his worth would be proven and I reckon with some more inside ball winning ability this year (Townsend) (Dusty winning more) (Fit Cotchin) then he's a bloody good chance. If he doesn't get the credit due though its a good measure of how far we've come if Brandon remains the PRE whipping boy.

Agree. It's bemusing actually.

My only thought is that he was so good so early that there is a level of disappointment that he hasn't kicked on...yet.

This kid has a steely resolve to get better and I am backing him to do it. He is the type to understand his deficiencies and work hard to get better.

I kind of understand the Brando dissapointment, cause I feel the same way. Let down but hanging in there in the hope that he will improve.

There's a little sense that his development has stalled even gone backwards.

His main let downs for me:

Still panics under pressure.

Needs to find a yard of pace.

Would like him to start finding more ball.

Other than that he tackles well and gets around the ground well.

He isn't totally lost to Conca/Morris levels yet but I understand why some are starting to get the heebeegeebee's with him.

In the next few years he will have Butler/Drummond/Markov breathing down his neck.

Needs to get a wriggle on.

Brandon is a good outside player who can run all day. He is probably our best at being able to spread from the contest and provide a useable option.

The challenge for him is to develop an inside game as well. His problem is that when we are being beaten on the inside he can't win his own ball enough to be of value to the team. This is I believe the main reason he has been smelly in our three finals losses. He relies almost entirely on others getting him the ball.

i think the challenge for Mirror Boy is to finish off the good work he begins. his final result lets him down.

Pretty much spot on comment regarding Brandon. Four years in the system n he gets plenty of it n does enough creative opening up of opportunities for us. One thing that lets him down is his use n composure. Does all the hard work to set up n then stuffs up the last little finish bit, needs to find that bit of composure n polish when he tries to execute. Gets that right n he'll be a bloody ripper, otherwise just more fan frustration ahead.

Might as well be NAB game 4 with the VFL team out there!!

In all seriousness, the tigers have been very lucky with injuries over the last few years. This will test this "increased depth" we supposedly have.

We have some kids on display, I like that.
