Brandon Ellis

Apologies, my point is more the trade Ellis for a poor game comment when 19 others did.

That's fair enough. Definatley all players who performed poorly need to be held to account

Ellis is a decent footballer the query on him at the moment and only my opinion is his performance in finals

As mentioned he is only 22 so it would be ridiculous to offload him now. I just hope that his performance improves in future finals

I dont think we should trade him at all but his finals record is a concern. Given that he is only 22 he has time on his side but next year is a crucial year. Another failure in finals and then we should consider a trade

he'll be... 23

:rofl

Watershed year for Ellis.

I think he'll struggle to keep his spot by year's end.

Great tank but needs to be cleaner, harder and to use the ball better rather than his up and down pressured left foot punts he keeps supplying because he lacks a yard.

I'll take the reverse. Better ball movement, Yarran to provide another runner, another preseason into a elite runner, stronger body and you'll get a top 6 finish in the JD.

What a dilemma. Either way I go I'll be agreeing with mutton or pooper scooper. Time to sit on the fence on this one methinks.

Hope you're right Scooper. Every man counts this year especially .

Top 6 finish in the B&F I'm predicting. Should bounce back after an off year last season.

Yeah I'm bullish.

I think he's been a bit soft.

Harden up in the contest and he's a jet, make no mistake.

Agree with you Carter.

C'mon Brandon, a face like this just screams 'Hardnut'!

I think he needs to work out what he wants to be. Another season or two of the same he will be a whipping boy just like Brent Stanton of the Bombers. Gaff from the Eagles needs to be his benchmark.

Least of our worries. Wants to get better and works his a$@e off to do so.

Good to very good player now and will get even better IMO.

Yep, he goes ok and at 22 will only get better.

BE only finished 7 votes off third. It's not much. I agree he has areas to get better on. For me, just needs to run as hard defensively as he does offensively. Often bludges one way and takes off too early to get on the run.

Personally I'd think about moving him into defence and play Yarran further up the ground.

I reckon with Yarran providing the run from the back half, it makes Ellis a better player. Another link man, another weapon. Yarran plays his best footy across half back, that's his role. Most of the time. Occasionally I've got no problem with swinging him forward if he things aren't working in the back half or we lack run across half forward. But that's not how Dimma coaches. Dimma doesn't move pieces, he sets and forgets. Let the system win not the individuals.

As one of the foundation members of Scoop's draft scoop's this is not the time to jump off. 22 year old who finds a heap of the ball. The Gaff calls are very smart.

Spot on. His career very closely parallels that of Gaff's albeit 12 months younger. Up until last year Gaff was seen as a reasonably high possession player but ineffective. Last year was a massive breakout by Gaff and I'm hoping Brandon does the same this year.
