His disposal efficiency dropped....by 0.5%. But he got a little more clearances, a lot more marks and tackles. He was ranked 11th in the league in effective disposals, 7th in kicks, 12th in total disposals, 16th in marks.

Forget the raw disposal efficiency figure. In his 2nd year Ellis had a disposal efficiency of over 80%. But that's because he had a bad habit of looking backwards every time he got the ball for the easy, safe disposal. He corrected this deficiency in 2014, played a lot more direct and through the lines but I thought this year he reverted back to that natural reaction a bit too much. I think his confidence may have taken a bit of a hit. But there is no doubt that this guy can find the ball. He runs harder than anyone and we need to work on his weaknesses but not forget his strengths. We don't have enough of his type of player so I am not sure why we would trade him.

I don't see it. Not clean enough. Not big enough.

K-Mac started as a pure outside mid, has been drifting inward through the year. My hope would be for this trend to continue. As teams have to cover him more, Ellis gets a bit more room. A pure outsider. Good teams can have pure outsiders. I thought we were early, too early, with Grigg. Can afford a pure outsider now and Ellis is it. Would like to see the trend of always going the short option loosened up. Early on he was a beautiful long kick. We have him, and Lids, and Dusty and Griff who are all good (Dusty is freakish over 45-55m) lofg kicks but who have been pulling their kicks for the last year. (Less so Dusty and I love him for it so long as he isn't too deep in defence).

Not sure Ellis has the speed nor skills to be the pure outsider (ala the Hill brothers). Ditto Grigg. And for mine there are question marks on Ellis "hardness" for finals.

Ellis has currency, we should be looking to include him in a Bennell/treloar deal.

My thoughts. Keep him if we can, but if it means getting Bennell, bye bye Brando.

B Ellis is fine

It's ok to have one outside type , if he's fit and fast

The problem is you can't have grigg in the same team

Too many squibs

What's your feeling when comparing the relative merits of BEllis vs Chaplin

Ellis is not the reason why we lost on the weekend. Just turned 22 and has all the makings of a great player.

People need to stop being so reactive to one poor performance.

Agree. Hard to get the ball on the outside if your team mates aren't getting it on the inside. Plain and simple.

Averaged 26 disposals a game 2 years running. Great young player, Brando.

3 years in the best 22 under 22 since debut.
He's going ok.
Spot on.
And confirming the obvious - he's a very young player - and to be doing what he has at this stage is very promising for the long term
He didn't have a good final game - but he's got the time and the upward learning curve to show improvement on that.
