Had posted earlier in the year that he would be found out in a finals game so this wasnt surprising. He is not a contested player, and when the heat is on in a final, and there is less space he struggles.

Needs to improve his contested game for sure, this has always been my main criticism and I haven't seen too many improvements on that front. Wouldn't trade him but I would be setting the bar much higher.

I'd also add in ball use. His kicking can also leave a bit to be desired too.

I've been told by a junior teammate of his (and still close friend) that Ellis is playing hurt (ankle) and being jabbed up before every game.

Could be someone covering for a mate or could be truth. May go some ways to explaining his dip in form this year.

Ellis is not the reason why we lost on the weekend. Just turned 22 and has all the makings of a great player.

People need to stop being so reactive to one poor performance.

Ellis is a keeper. He made the AA squad last year as a 20/21 year old, personally think he had a more well rounded year this year. He'll keep working on his contested ball, goalkicking and improving. He had a poor final and people want to throw the baby out with the bathwater but the guys playing on the inside got smashed as well so no coincidence.
