Blair Hartley

Problem for the RFC is now the drop off has arrived and Hardwick has walked and Cotch Jack and others finishing up, its gonna be harder to attract high end talent through free agency, when other might be better positioned to offer success.

Not necessarily , oft FA is as much to do with space in the cap than anything else, king pin FA seem few and far between in the scheme of things , lynch and Cameron two in last 4y isn’t many

Got a difficult and important navigation of contracts, FA targets and young talent in the club.

Got to target for the future. KPF and speed. ( especially midfielders).

This all steams back to us winning flags, we have never been a good drafting club but they took the *smile* after 17, selecting Higgins another small when we had Bulter Castagna Rioli.
Throw in the a hybrid forward/ruck Coleman jones. Followered up by 2 midfielders that were allergic to leather in Dow & Collier Dawkins.
Giving away our 1st pick to Geelong in 2020 was pure arrogance.
Selecting Brown in front of a 'Bull/ aggressive' forward in Van Hooganband is sackable.
So all our problems were caused by winning flags? Really?

Pick 17 in 2021 draft not pick 11. By all means criticize recruiting but get the facts right when you do.
They would struggle to pick a booga out of there noses let alone finding a quality kid.
Thank god for McMahon and Melbourne for giving us Dusty

Toooo msny missess between 2016-2021
It should be his job on the line but not at punt rd he gets to select a bloke that can keep him doing the same mistakes over and over again.

Higgins 1st rounder
Dow 1st rounder
Collier Dawkins
Strike 3 your out

Give it a rest. You've been saying the same thing ad nauseum now for probably 2-3 years. We understand your point.

As has been put elsewhere, there's very few success stories anywhere after Dow and RCD.
Higgins is a good player. He might be an *smile*, but he's good. Recruiters can't stop people wanting to leave a club

Among the many fine things Blair has done for the club we mustn’t overlook his getting refunds on a couple of Clarke’s potatoes.

He got a pick back for Higgins and another for Coleman-Potato.

As you rightly point out, Zipper, the buck for Clarke’s arse drafts stops with Blair.

I can’t help but have another look at our performance at the draft under Clarke.
