Andrew 'Mini' McQualter

A few tactical mistakes yesterday sure but I don't think we're good enough to beat Melbourne regardless of the coaching moves with the players available.
They've had it over us for some time.
Thought Mini's presser was good. Realist.
I won't discount him from that performance.

A coach can only do so much, I think Dees just a better team. Need to change our forward line over summer and bring in new players.

This team has had the whiff of ‘transition’ about them all year.

My keen interest has waned since the Essendon game because we’re just treading water until the next vision is minted and the superhunks are rolled into weekly games.

Dunno if Mini should get the gig. He has impressed me but I like the idea of an external point of view.

Mini will still be there (presumably) if someone else gets the gig.

Best part is he said that Hopper 50 "we were a bit stiff" whereas Dimma would've praised how hard it is for the flogs.

One thing i like about him he at least moves the magnets around. He is learning and whilst it might work sometimes other times it won't. He will learn what works and what doesn't quickly.

Fair assessment Carts. I'd only say that if you've been senior coach it's untenable to stay on if someone else gets the gig so I'd expect him to go.

I like Mini but yeah, a quality external guy with a different vision would be good.

Yep, no way Mini stays if he doesn't get senior coach.

From reading the gameday thread, it sounds like Mini may have made some rather poor match-day moves.

How does everyone think he went while the heat was on?

It's a real tricky one. He puts his hand up to be caretaker for half a season, knowing that if someone else gets the head coach gig he's out of a place he's probably loved working at for several years.

In many ways its a sacrificial act and I hope fans appreciate it.

In all games he has had very good match sense. Has made all the right moves. But yesterday was probably the first time he lowered his colours.

I'm not sure I'd place much credence on a PRE match day thread, it's like an online version of schizophrenia.

Lost the game on Thursday by continuing with the same old battlers to kick our goals
Took off Miller when we were having major issues with their forwards
If you’re going to move Balta forward Miller should’ve been played back
Should have subbed off Cotch or Graham for Coulthard

I do wonder if the culture that has been created over the past 7years will suffer if we bring a new coach in with new support staff and new ideas.

It will and players might move on. Breaking it completely where we might have to bottom out again.
