2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

It sounds so juvenile when you write it down now, all from the media end. Instead of actually acknowledging that the side was a very good side, they came up with every excuse and then changed the game by force in order to stop our run.
UNPRECEDENTED!! Article in the HS from March 2021. Just an explanation: crux of the article is they didn’t want anyone to know who it actually was that brought in the stand rule. We all know though…

Leppa on a radio spot pretty much said it was common knowledge that Hocking brought it in to stop Richmond's tactic of marking up in a way as to block the corridor.

Hocking's time at AFL House, all his ideas, decisions, and moves, were aimed at getting Geelong a flag. To do that, he had to curb our dominance.

It made the 2020 Premiership win all the more enjoyable.

We sure did, all very different but the rhetoric was different from the media (and thats what the majority of fans believe, they hear the crap spouted by so called experts and believe it).

2017 was we were the momentum team going into finals. Went into the GF after winning finals by 51 (geelong), GWS (by 36) and then beat the Crows by 48 in an apparent unloseable GF. I seem to remember most pundits were saying it was just going to be decided by how many the Crows beat us by - so essentially we were lucky for this flag, got the Crows on an off day

2019 we lost Jack R early in the season so our 2 pronged attack wasn't what we wanted. We bltized through the year though, this was when the media really started to spout the MCG issue that we play too many games there. Its so funny hearing Interstate fans talk about this, I just say, well where do they expect us to play our home games and our away games against other MCG tenants. No-one can answer it but they just scoff the same line, so apparently the MCG was the only reason we could win.

So then 2020 comes around and we made finals, beat the Lions and Port on their home deck and then comfortably beat the Cats by 5 goals even though we were down by 1 player due to the knockout of Vlastuin so early in the game. This was when the "state of the game" started and they ended up changing the game.

It sounds so juvenile when you write it down now, all from the media end. Instead of actually acknowledging that the side was a very good side, they came up with every excuse and then changed the game by force in order to stop our run.

It was funny I flicked to Fox Footy during the week and it had come close games on, it was our Rd 2 game against the Pies from 2016 (the one where Grundy kicked the winner pretty much on the siren). I was enjoying watching the game, no robots standing on the mark, no ridiculous umpiring decisions (until the deliberate paid against Vlastuin with less than a minute to go that only the Pies would ever be given). It was just a better game to watch than the game we have now.
The thing that also stands out to me was, during our run, the "dynasty" word was never used till the eve of '20 GF, now every premier is talked up as a dynasty team, even Cats '22 who had the older side to ever play in a GF. Media are just pathetic. Best response i have had to your MCG question was by a Port fan, who claimed we should play Melb in Cairns to make it even. the sad part of that was that he was serious.

...or put another way, "Don't get me wrong or misinterpret, but Grant Thomas coached possibly the best group of players not to win a premiership, which only serves to highlight his performance."
Not only did Thomas’ team not win a flag, they didn’t even make the GF.

Seeing him there, looking like a bulldog chewing on a wasp was wonderful.

you forget the record spanking we gave them in the 1969 1st semi, 25.17 to 7.7
I was there and will never forget it! I still remember queuing up for finals tickets and sleeping overnight in Yarra Park......shocking night.

I hope all is well with caesar, his absence is conspicuous.

Dusty a week in rehab, but as per injury report just a turned ankle, (ran laps and straight lines for about 90 minutes.
Prestia now a week in rehab ran laps with Dusty for awhile except did a lot more.
Bauer enters his 3rd week of rehab.
Coulthard has been in rehab since the 18th Dec but has not appeared in the clubs injury report, doing plenty of running and looks close but I did see physios working on his calf for about 15 minutes but then in got up and ran plenty of laps
Cumberland enters his 2nd week in rehab, he says it is just a niggle?
Grimes sad to see him doing very little pre and post Christmas  bring on the new breed, Grimesy looks cooked.
Juddy & Young : Doing all but contact drills, still doing grappling sessions to test out and strengthen their respective shoulders.

Ross, Baker & Shorty back with main group

SHAI!! Finally back to making other players look stupid :)
Hopper Is having a good pre-season

I am not seeing a lot to get excited about the last couple of sessions, (3 hour session yesterday), hopefully that changes soon.

Won't see Wednesday's session but should get there for Friday's
