2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

They will request to speak to Dusty after each and every game, and proceed to ask him the same inane questions about his contract…nothing surer.
Dusty wouldn't give a stuff and walk off he wouldn't even care about the consequences he knows the scum they are.

players and coaches say they don't listen to the media

but they do , their human

in 2017 , the football world looked down on us , and based on our 2016 season , fair enough

and we had a pants down spanking by Adelaide , over there earlier in the season
and that spectacular loss to the Saints mid season which I think galvanised many to have the opinion we were weak reed

come Grand Final day the SA media had the Crows thinking they just had to turn up to win
and you can determine the physce of the Club afterwards , it was they some how lost the Grand Final , we didn't win it

let drink bath water , let them drink as much as they can

it will make the victories even sweeter

Definately from a page out of the "Judge Gerard" playbook, selectively of course.
Did you forget the sook he had when Bolton slapped a Sydney player and when Nakas hit the Sydney defender??
He is still recovering from that faithful night in 2020.
For apprantly a smart Bloke he is pretty stupid.
Richmond has always used Geelong as a stepping stone to a flag.
1967. 1980. 2017.2019 & 2020

Rolled ankle puts Dusty in rehab

Peter Ryan
Champion Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin joined the Tigers’ rehab group on Monday morning after rolling his ankle at training last week, but the club hopes he can return to full training this week.
The 32-year-old was able to have a light run in the rehab group alongside premiership teammates Tom Lynch and Dion Prestia before leaving the track, with the Tigers reporting that the triple-Norm Smith Medal winner’s issue was only minor.

Lynch is progressing well from the foot injury that derailed his 2023 season, but he will not be rushed back into full training after not running for eight months following his surgery. He is running strongly and had a similarly slow build-up ahead of the 2019 season when overcoming a knee injury. Prestia, who has a history of soft tissue injuries, is also being nursed along.

Whilst I love the 2019 and 2020 premiership wins, the above is also what makes 2017 so special. Sure, it ended 37 years of nothingness, but it was also the whole "Richmond are rubbish" narrative that seemed to be spilled and is still held today. A bunch of numpties and Dustin Martin. As if 1 player could elevate a bunch of crap players from nothing to the ultimate glory for 3 out of 4 years (and excluding flu could easily have been 4 from 4).

To be fair, plenty of them ran with the Richmond are stuffed narrative in 2019 when Rance did his knee. So we had TWO good players and a bunch of numpties,

Don’t get me wrong, he says. Hard to read into that anything other than what he says.

Yeah I don't think we've ever seen before or after our premierships, that sort of level of disrespect to a premiership team. The fact that they are now known as a dynasty level premiership team, it just pours scorn on the amount of crap that our players were given at that time of being rubbish players but with Dustin Martin to elevate them. So many pundits that let their personal feelings about the club to cloud their vision IMO.

Yep! Our 2017 team definitely didn’t get enough plaudits. An elite full forward, elite full back and 2 elite mids, along with some really talented senior players (edwards, houli, Astbury etc), and some talented guys under 25 (prestia, caddy, nank, lambert, rioli etc). Pretty decent squad all over the ground. Maybe because we weren’t your traditional side with 2 key forwards and 2 rucks, people may have seen us as a bit hodgepodge, but geez we had some talent

We had excellent talent IMO. It was all club related IMO.

Take a look at the hodgepodge team that Collingwood put out this year, they scraped by in practically every finals game (yet we put everyone to the sword) and yet the way they are talked about now is outrageous if you compare it to the disrespect we received in 2017.

Exactly! Collingwood’s 2023 team would get hammered by our 2017 team

History will forever show the 2017 player group was far better than many realised, including Richmond members & supporters. Plus they played a game style that worked to the collective strength of the group - attacking, forward focussed, contested footy with manic defence and defensive pressure when needed.

They all thought we were going to be like the Dogs of ‘16. It really got up the noses of the media that we didn’t just take our drought breaking Premiership and bugger off to the bottom of the ladder. Personally, I think we’ll drop a little for a year or two, but when we’ve got some experience into the youngsters we could bounce up very quickly.

Yep! The dynasty the AFL tried very hard to prevent!
It’s a shame we didn’t get more games into kids last year but hopefully we do this year. Im still hopeful of making finals and having an impact this year, but if it’s a bit clunky with a new coach, new gameplan and new young players each week, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to use our draft picks to trade up and get another few quality kids through the door, then bounce back with a side full of more experience youngsters in 2025.
