2024 Training With The Ooze Crew

My point was more about the dismissing of KMac rather than the hype around Banks.
Have spent a few games just watching how insane Kmacs work rate is and by extension how important he is to the team. If Banks could be anywhere near as good as KMac the team will be in good shape
Yeah he works super hard and was a key pillar to our premierships, especially in 2020 when Vlastuin went off in the grand final.
The issue for me is if we are going to become a more precise kicking team his disposal may well not be up to it. I thought his kicking went backwards in 2023.
He is also 30 and has the next generation pushing him.

Good god i've lectured by a data collector on something that has nothing to do with the ball getting from A to B.
Fact of the matter is mate.I use what god gave me.Eyes.
Yze has stated we will use the corridor.
Simple question who would you rather deliver through the corridor.Dusty or Shai or Graham/Ross and i'll even chuck in Tarranto for good measure.
Oh and btw i like every player who pulls on our jumper so don't assume i don't like Graham & Ross. They have other attributes i do like.Just not their disposal by foot.
All it says is that your eyes are fooling you. My eyes told me Ross was regularly hitting targets and making kicks and decisions that tohers don’t make. I did have a similar opinion on Graham last few years to you however but am not stupid enough to ignore the stats and claim my eyes are superior to actual things that have happened.

every player misses kicks, some more than others I have always believe poor old Jack Ross has been hard done by and had his highlighted more than others who get away with it due to sreputation.

Their performance in kicking efficiency is amongst the upper echelons in the league, hence they are in the elite.
It doesn't mean they're kicking 65m laser pointed bullet passes as entries inside 50 every time they have the ball. Bit it does indicate when it touches their foot it usually ends with their team mate.
I'm really not sure how you can argue with these stats in such a blinkered way. Throwing in a champ just made this extra amusing.
Sure.I can kick to a team mate 15mtrs away and hit him on the tit and have 100% efficiency. How many times do you see it in a game.Kicking backwards/sideways it all counts on the stats sheet. So yes it cam be misleading.

Agree it can be misleading, particularly across the back half - marks mean nothing too with the sideways and backward stuff.. But I also think Ross and Graham are good kicks, not elite, but very good. Both are also very good shots for goal. Yeah there is the short 20-30m kick but they all do that at times. I think they take the harder kicks as well.

Our kicking efficiency would have to be one of the lowest in the comp.It was all fine with the chaos footy back then but since 2020 it all changed. The club knew it.Look at the 21 draft. All great kicks.Yze wants us to use the corridor.Lets see how that turns out under pressure.

Ross will struggle to get a game with Yze IMO

His disposal efficiency went up because he a) he worked a lot on his kicking, to his credit and b) we had him working strictly within his limitations

But linking up out on the wing with little dinkers is different to spearing at speed (both in conveyance and decision making) through oppo cluster in the guts. which is what Yze will be demanding.

have more time for Graham's kicking, which has nice penetration and he has good goal sense.

Your statement of "fact" is God.

This explains everything :ROFLMAO:

This is probably the most balanced view imo. They maybe good kicks but I wouldn't call them elite.

Yep, if I’m picking the team, guys who are borderline best 22 and are close to 30 or above aren’t getting in. I can appreciate the hard work Kamdyn puts in, but he’s not part of our next premiership side. Playing him every week except round 24 this year was criminal. This year was a waste of a season, with us not getting games into the kids. Yze so far has been all about the kids in his pressers, which is refreshing to hear!

Although no one had tried to, you could make the argument that Graham's kicking actually is Elite.

I don't think he's as a good a disposer as Ross on the inside BUT, Graham's ability to deliver inside 50 is as good as anyone's in the competition, bar the absolute Dusty level freaks. Way better than Bolton or Taranto, by the way, who have both been brought up as superior.

Graham is also objectively an Elite kick for goal. Conversion rate, technique and temperament.

But that's a little more finessed, and you probably wouldn't be classing Graham generally in the elite outside kicking role.

Been sitting back watching @Spud_Delist go toe2toe with all comers.... quite the orator!
He's bringing the God complex of being the smartest bloke in the room and so it's got me wondering..... could this be.... not the second coming of @TheBigAgitator, but quite possibly the 3rd glorious arrival after his idiot "son" @BustinTime graced us with his unbiased offerings?
I could be wrong..... but I'm just using my eyes and this is what I'm seeing!

Seriously? I sit at games watching play develop and even some of Dusty’s kicks are absolutely horrendous at times.
Every player has poor kicks from time to time mate. I think Graham in particular is more than decent by foot, Ross WAS dodgy but improved last season for certain.
Just imo of course

Here is why Stats are a better guide than using just you're eyes. Statistically speaking - disp eff% & their rank at Richmond.
Ross 5th 78.3, Graham 6th 77.9, Bolton 22nd 67.9, Dusty 25th 65.9.
Kicking eff% Ross 4th 75.7, Graham 13th 63.9, Bolton 20th 58.4, Dusty 27th 50.4.

You can answer you're own question there but "jeepers creepers, where did you get those eyes"

Must admit though, that sometimes the degree of difficulty of the attempted kick can skew the *smile* out of blind stats. Blokes like Dusty and Shai can at times make the impossible kick look like the average day bread n butter shot so fans are sooooo much more forgiving when they flub a few easy kicks. However players who take the safe n secure routine option over and over again are ridiculed when they flub one of their basic easy kicks.

Yep when Dusty and Shai get the ball they have usually have two or three defenders hanging off them. They have less time and space to do an effective kick. It's the same with all the top midfielders in the comp. It's why Kano grabbed the "stat" on Tarranto saying he's the 151st best midfielder in the comp.
Jack Graham and Jack Ross don't get tagged and would have much more time to deliver an effective kick. It's why their stats are higher.
