No one was getting a kick in Dimmas small fwd graveyard. Times they are a changin.
yeah maybe Harry, we shall see.

I just think there is a big risk moving a player who is starring in one position back the position he was struggling in.

Yes amazing romance on here from some.
DRioli, the forward, was in and out of the team through really lacklustre form and may have eventually left the club as his career was literally at the crossroads until a genius decided to try him in defence.
He is now a bona fide star of the competition and one of our most consistent performers, and some on here want to send him back to purgatory?
Won’t happen. He may be moved to wing or midfield to give us something different but he’s not going back to deadman’s corner. And nor should he.

When the general speaks you better listen to him.

Balta kicked 8 goals in our first 3 games in 2022. He's an elite contested mark and a decent shot for goal. Don't see why he couldn't make it up forward. Brilliant athlete and would be a handful alongside Lynch and Kosi. He took 10 marks in round 23 against North and 9 marks against Port round 24 playing forward this year. Even managed the 2 Brownlow votes for that round 23 game 😅
Noah is a great chop out in the ruck when nank needs a rest
As well as playing up forward,,he is to loose as a defender

Has anyone seen Daniel lurking around the goals kicking a few snapshots at training? It could be my early Christmas present from Yze.

He's always been too classy for the backline.

Put him back where he belongs and where his composure, ball sharing and forward nous have made a real difference in the past.

For three years I have been deprived of my favourite Tiger playing where he is most suited and most dangerous.
By the sounds of it you havn't watched any of our games in the last 3yrs.lol

Half back is the easiest position on the ground and should be used to give kids game time and somewhere to play your fringe players. Oleg Markov is a premiership half back flanker.

You don’t see Brisbane playing Charlie Cameron at half back. If they did he'd be an 8 time AA.

In 2016 2017 a young DRioli transformed the way we played playing in the forward line. His run and carry and attacking play inspired his senior team-mates who followed his lead in this regard.

Dimmas game plan burned him out, like it has many others, but imo Daniel is a natural attacking creative small forward. His pace and tank make him even more valuable there.

Hoping Oozo sees this also.
Despite our success.A career as a small fwd at Richmond came crashing down once that stand rule was introduced.Thankfully for Dan he found a new calling. The attacking HBF previously occupied by Houli.
So why change something that isn't broken?

There was a reason he was getting dropped and was then sent to halfback in the first place and that is he wasn’t getting a kick playing forward.
His move back has been phenomenally successful
The thing to me is that he is much better as a straight ahead player, but he isn’t alone with this trait. He gives us speed, run and a bit of dare off the backline that I am not sure anyone else can give us.
Maybe we could try him forward again but I wouldn’t be that confident of success. Depends on why his form tapered off so badly in the period before he was moved back.

Short memory, must have a shoooooort memory.

There were some reasons for Daniel's form drop that we don't need to go into here. He didn't just forget his triple premiership forward play.

Just name me one permanent small forward we have who is better than him.

We had half back flankers coming out of our ears and displaced Shorty, a best and fairest half back flanker to accommodate the move.

Daniel can play both roles brilliantly. But how is it best for the team?

I'm noticing some growing interest on here in returning Danny to the goals again. . The new kids need a cool head around them.

If it does happen, Giddy up!

In our era he averaged 1.14 goals per game.
Been far more damaging on a HBF.In career best form really.

Well said, DA. He’s carved out a great niche as an attacking defender. I don’t understand why we’d want to take that out of the team, by moving him back to starvation corner.
