2024 Draft Thread

The board has to ratify No 1 picks so the word would be out there
No idea about that but I was thinking that picking someone as number 1 would probably be known by more people once the decision has been made and is more likely to get out. Noone would know who we are taking at 6 because we don't know who is being taken 2-5.

There is also a sponsor in telstra

Derogatory nick name proposals for players if they're a bust:

Lalor - Temu Dusty/Sam Lounder

Smillie - Smelly/Tom Gangreen

Allan - Reidbait

Hotton - Cold/ Taj Mahack

Faull - Fail

I think Dim Sim has potential.
I'd be happy with a Faull/Sim combo.
With the sheer weight of key position prospects one recruiter will look like a genius, the others will be scratching their heads wondering how they let player X slip through the net.

Allan was really good in the academy games down back ,and against VFL men .
Smillie was really good in one of those matches ,but l reckon he faded a bit as the year went on.

Only saw him play once which was the WAFL final. He didn’t get it a lot but looked quite composed when he did.

6 and what else? If Richmond thinks there is nothing between the top 6, why bother trading? FOS has not shown enough to make the club go hard enough for him and give up 2 first rounders, including 6.

Give up FOS fans. Unless North are willing to take selections that don’t include pick 6. He won’t be at Richmond.
One of our late teens(18) would get it done.
If we want to get back to 8 picks in the draft then the port trade looks likely.
Pick 11 for 13 & 29.
We go in with 1/2/10/13/20/23/24/29.

I think if we do that it will be Smith, I feel there will be some inclination to grab a safe 200 gamer. O'Sullivan is in that high risk bracket, low possession impact players can turn out well like Dale Thomas or they can be disappointments like Jack Billings. With Lalor's injury history I would be grabbing the safest prospect because it would be a disaster to have a couple of busts at 1 & 2.

Well i'm hoping that genius is Blair(Toce).Only saw Dim Sim once but he looks the most likely who we could take a hit with.We need to build a fwd line around a Lynch type.
Armstrong isn't it.
Maybe one of the whitlocks but your getting the same at a less costly price in Dim Sim should we trade down.

I like him too, I think had he kicked straight at state level there would be a completely different discussion taking place. I also think Charlie West would be a worthy punt, very strong hands, perhaps the best in the entire pool.

100%.
Jagga gives our midfield a point of difference.
As it stands-Taranto/Hopper/Meatball(aging)/McCauliffe.
And if add Lalor & Smillie it all looks one dimensional.
He's been the most consistent performer this year and no injury history.
