Not sure exactly when we started this theory may have come when we went the tall in Griffiths and the next pick was Nat Fyfe who was best available
, but it’s been publicly stated that’s what we do , clubs have stated that they only go needs basis when right in the premiership window and generally still go best available with first round picks

North Melbourne is considering offers for its No.2 pick and its future first-round selection but says securing a pair of key talls in last year's draft means it will not
"overstretch" to find a key forward in next week's national draft.
The Roos have pick two and a pair of selections in the 60s to take to the national
draft and are keen to take three national draft picks to continue to bolster their young talent.
It means the Roos seem certain to make moves to secure another early selection in the top 20 given their only quality pick is the No.2 overall selection.
The Tigers could be interested in moving up to pick two but not in a deal that sees them give up two top 12 selections for that pick alone.
Clubs are also keen to assess the worth of
10 & 11 for 2 looks very good on paper, I would definitely be doing that deal.

Yeah not sure there’s a knock on him , for some reason I wouldn’t want to use 6 on him , however wouldn’t be shocked if ends up a Sidebottom type star

Looking at the evenness of picks 10-30 I'd definitely be doing that deal, particularly if Lindsay is off to Melbourne. I think having 3 picks in the top 6 can address a lot of problems, 1 speedster, 1 well rounded mid & 1 key position prospect. They are also relatively safe picks so you have 3 core players from the get go. This draft realistically needs 4 hits, I think those picks in the 18-24 bracket can get the job done.

cause it feels like our top 3 are FOS, lalor, and Smillie, do not see a speedster
Lalor & O'Sullivan are quick, that's who I am referring to.
