It's hard to see why Smillie could be rated higher than Langford...there's a clear gap for me.The Sun article has us also taking Smillie over Langford , very much read like Lalor and Smillie would be our 2

I’m the same SoJ , I think Langford is as certain to be 150 gamer as any , in saying that I’m not unhappy to get Smillie , could be something special just has more question marks , could handle Lalor at 1 , Langford at 6 and Smillie at 10It's hard to see why Smillie could be rated higher than Langford...there's a clear gap for me.
3 bulls in the same paddock!I’m the same SoJ , I think Langford is as certain to be 150 gamer as any , in saying that I’m not unhappy to get Smillie , could be something special just has more question marks , could handle Lalor at 1 , Langford at 6 and Smillie at 10
I can see Smillie be coming very good out of the back half not that we recruit mids to become flankers , the other 2 are going to be outstanding resting forward options ,ad a little more outside pace and we are well on the way3 bulls in the same paddock!
Can we hit 1000 by draft day?707 pages about things that may not even happen. Incredible.
Just like Christmas as a kid, the anticipation can be as fun as the event itself. No different to the feeling of preseason hope before your sports team inevitably sucks or planning a holiday being almost as much fun as the holiday itself! Get aboard the draft dopamine express! There's not even any certainty on who goes at pick one let alone beyond that.
Then you couple it with potential pick swaps on the night.
Followed by not knowing how good these kids will actually be for several years...
Understand there's a lot of interest given it impacts our future but there's absolutely no way anyone here can control what will unfold.
I'm looking forward to draft night to see who we actually get but am fairly happy to just sit back & leave it to the pros.
Once I watch their draft highlight clips on our club's site, that's when I start to get excited.
In your scenario cats amongst pigeons, if we first bid on Ashcroft and worst case with only Smillie left at 7, could see us taking Lindsay there. Why not?
As mad as it seems and how even the draft is your still going to get someone who at some point of this year was touted #1 anyway(so he has talent).
Tauru
Fos
Lalor
Draper
Langford
Jagga or Smillie
It won't happen but cats amongst pigeons stuff, lol
A shame I were hoping for Lalor or FOS at 1 then Jagga at 6Here's the snippet from the HUN this morning...
JAGGA FIRMING AS A TOP-FIVE LOCK
Highly-rated Victorian midfielder Jagga Smith is looking increasingly certain to be a top-five draft pick next Wednesday, with Harvey Langford shaping as a potential slider to St Kilda’s first selection.
Smith is believed to have strong interest from Carlton (pick 3), Adelaide (pick 4) and Melbourne (pick 5) and is no longer expected to get past the Demons.
Richmond is still favoured to select Sam Lalor at pick 1 but has also weighed up Finn O’Sullivan.
With North Melbourne eyeing Alix Tauru at pick 2, Carlton looks set to have a choice between O’Sullivan, Sid Draper and Smith.
The Blues have long been favoured to take O’Sullivan, but are also big fans of Draper and Smith — two other players who would fit their needs nicely.
Draper, Smith and Langford have all been linked to Adelaide at pick 4, while Smith and Langford look the most likely options for Melbourne at pick 5.
The Tigers are widely tipped to use pick 6 on Josh Smillie, while Brisbane Lions father-son prospect Levi Ashcroft is expected to attract a top-five bid.
Think he's well liked. Not too many people have said otherwise. Just that he's maybe a bit off broadway being late teens or thereabouts.Berry is getting surprisingly little love on here but, IMO anyway, he has huge potential and fills an even huger need we have.
Would be rapt if we get him after our first few picks.
Yeah, agree with that mate. More about him not getting mentioned in discussion for our picks too often. I may have to jump across to the Draft thread to see where the all-knowledgeable Pre'ers had him pegged.Think he's well liked. Not too many people have said otherwise. Our first 4 (1;6:10:11 probably become 1, 7, 11;12) if we don’t trade up or out.Lalor at 1 , Langford at 6 and Smillie at 10
For what it’s worth Jake, I visualise you as moreThat's dedication, tm.
They nearly all take the first game to pick up the tempo at seniors anyway, tigerman. I don't judge em on debut at level. Gerreyn got the tempo and did well in his second hitout. (FWIW I reckon he's ok in the damp.) He levelled up IMO. Good showing.
I aint got much atm, Mr Chips. I shared what I had.
I'm getting back to work on it, fb. There's not much news until Norfs punt their pick.
Consensus seems to be late teens, 20s for Berry so would be in the mix for us.Berry is getting surprisingly little love on here but, IMO anyway, he has huge potential and fills an even huger need we have.
